"Of course I want to fight him because I want be a world champion again so I have instructed my advisor to get it done ASAP and he is been doing some talking in New York this weekend."
"Everybody knows that Broner is a skillful fighter and he showed some of his skills on Saturday," said Maidana. "Yet like I always said, Paulie is a smart warrior and he prevented Broner from showing his brightest side.
"The mistake would now be for Broner to face me and you know that I am not a trash talker, but I will knock out Broner if I am in a ring with him. I think he would prefer to give the title away though and move back to 135lbs rather than fight me.
"Broner would fight in a totally different way (than versus Malignaggi) against me. He would run desperately and try to box me from the outside. He would probably hit me often, but I can take a punch so sooner or later I'll catch him with a good one and he will go to sleep."
"I always fight the best out there and there are many good fighters in the welterweight division at the moment, but the one who has the belt that I want is named Adrien Broner."
winnable fight for AB, he just has to fight smart. if devon can outbox maidana im sure broner can, and this coming from a huge maidana fight.
Broner is too arrogant to do the things survivalist fighters do, run, hold, clinch. He'll stand in front of Maidana.
Maidana saw something he can exploit aside from his movement. I don't know what it is, but the difference between the two is that AB doesn't trade. He hits back when his opponent is finished hitting. Maidana has the ability to punch back even after taking vicious blows in split seconds.
I'd be pleasantly surprised is Broner took the Maidana fight.
If I was his matchmaker though, I'd have Broner avoid him because its a more dangerous fight than any Broner has been in and Maidana been on fire lately.
I don't know, my man. I think Broner either lacked the skill to finish off Paulie or he lacked the heart to do so. None of us know whether or not Broner could have done it, but he never really seemed to try and I think Floyd said as much himself. Both Hatton and Khan phucked Paulie up, and at no point did Broner. I expected more to be honest.
And the weight thing, other than fighters being a bit bigger and being more used to taking bigger punches, I don't see the weight climb being that big of a deal. Broner is bigger and obviously stronger than Paulie and imo, it was Broner who was the bigger man with the power - not Paulie.
And regarding Pac and Oscar - lol - Oscar stayed on the stool or he would have eventually been carted out of that ring on a stretcher in a coma.
And the Ghost phucked up Berto and put him on the deck, as did Ortiz right after he moved up.
And one last thing, Broner didn't go up 3 weight classes, he barely went up 2. Broner is a natural WW and that is why he can't make weight at 135 anymore.
Phuck the excuses.
Broner looked like crap vs pauli.....
Broner will fight zab or mosely next, or go down to 140 and fight peterson for his belt... It would be his 4th title in 4 divisions, and his fanboys will love that....
I highly doubt we get the maidana v broner fight next...
Zab would probably knock Maidana out. Erik Morales and Joseito Lopez almost did.
IMO Judah is a tougher fight for Broner than Maidana.

I like Mosley in a Broner fight. He beats Zab though imo.

So since you don't think weight climbing is that big of a deal, how do u think Mikey Garcia would do against Devon Alexander this year at 140?
You think Mikey would bring his power up three weight classes and blast out a light hitting
Jr Welterweight?
Lots of camps are challenging Broner!! They think he's a hype job and feel that they will be the first to apply pressure on him.
OH yeah................their purse for the fight will be their BEST! MOST!!
Maidana needs a Broner, Broner doesn't need him, this is pro boxing for MONEY try to keep that in mind! This isn't a tournement where the winners fight each other! Its punch for dough! Ray.
Ummmm he IS a hypejob

If broner can use his speed and get away from maidana's crazy power then broner UD. But maidana's a beast and has improved a lot if maidana lands its light out.
Who else has walked Paulie down and ko'd him? He was still punching when they waved off the Khan fight.
Broner just came up from lightweight. He was at Jr lightweight just last year.
His body still has to adjust to the weight. Its no easy feat to go up three weight classes in one year and bring KO power right off the bat.
Manny couldn't KO De La Hoya in his first fight at 147. And DLH was emaciated.
The Ghost Guerrero couldn't KO Berto in his first fight at Welter either.
Give AB time...

Sebastian Contursi (Maidana's advisor) had a meeting with Schaeffer a couple of days ago. He said they already made an offer to fight Broner and that GBP accepted it. They are waiting Al Haymon to anwser, probably next week we got some news.

There is a question mark on his power at 147 IMO, Paulie is very honest and he said Paulie didn't hurt him. hes gone on record saying Hatton, Khan, Cotto and even Cano and Diaz hurt him.
Paulie was also butt hurt over the "side piece" drama. So I doubt he's being 100% honest about how good Broner is.
Broner hurt Paulie a few times but Paulie played it off by hotdogging. Rewatch the fight and I think you'll see what I'm talking about.
Devon Alexander made Maidana look like a C class fighter, but I do think Maidana vs. Broner is the obvious fight to be made at the moment, and going in, I think most of us would agree it could go either way.
I just want to see Broner face someone who can actually punch. I respect Paulie and he's entertaining, but he can't hit, and shame on Broner for not walking him down and going for the KO. No way in hell that fight should have gone the distance. Broner lost a lot of respect from everyone after that fight - both for his in the ring and out of ring performance.
Time for Broner to start fighting the big boys...

Maidana will get severely owned by AB. I see an early KO. This is the perfect fight for both boxers right now.

I think Broner has the power and handspeed to brutalise the slow Maidana. Will they risk him tho?
