Mayweather and Canelo in Grand Rapids

I went to the Grand Rapids leg of the Mayweather-Canelo tour and was shocked to see that Canelo was the fan favorite in Money's hometown. I was there for Paulie-Cano in Brooklyn and it was like a home fight for Cano. Mexicans run deep and they love this sport. I truly commend them all for their dedication.

He really has. I bet 90% of the Latino population orders this fight. I think it hits 2 million buys, but falls short of Oscar-Floyd. if it wasnt for the streams this fight will break the record...

Mayweather was getting booed heavily. I don't recall Canelo being booed at all. Wow. Floyd is living in some form of hell. He has to be. Can't imagine what it would be like to get viciously booed in my hometown as a major celebrity. Unreal. :?!:

Floyds home is Las Vegas he left Grand Rapids he was booed in every city he went too !!! i can garauntee he will not be greeted favorably when he does the vegas presser ! and i can wait to see what happens when he goes to a city that has a huge latino / mexican community like california !!! they will need the secrete service and the national gaurd to protect floyd !

Was Floyd getting booed/hated on or did Canelo just get the louder reception? Mayweather was getting booed heavily. I don't recall Canelo being booed at all.

I thought Mayweather would draw more fans in his hometown, but it felt like I was in Mexico City for a Chavez Sr. fight. lol Was Floyd getting booed/hated on or did Canelo just get the louder reception?

Floyd is not needed to promote this fight. Actually, floyd presence makes it more hard to sell the fight. :firedevil Canelo alone is just fine.

thanks for the picktures ! i noticed alot of empty seats at the stadium ! what was the turnout like ! it says alot of mayweather when he isnt even liked in his own hometown ! thats like manny getting booed in the Philippines All of the people were funneled to one side of the stadium, so one side was completely empty by design. How big of a favorite. Like 60% or more? More like 90%. The Latino crowd showed Canelo serious love with booming chants of "Mexico, Mexico!." I was totally caught off guard by this.
