seeing him & Canelo face to face, you could tell Floyd had no fear of him. In recent months a ton of fans & media said Floyd was scared of him but you could tell today when you see them face to face or his interviews where he was highly comfortable that he has no fear. He did do the cw for whatever reason whether its for an advantage or to be fair but either way he's not afraid of Canelo.
It was the same with Mosley. People get way too caught up in thinking these guys fear eachother. After the JMM fight there were a ton of people who thought Shane had Floyd shook but you could see from the very 1st presser that Floyd had no fear of Shane. Sometimes guys dont fight for whatever reason. Wether its promoters, risk vs reward, or whatever but very rarely is it truly based on fear of another fighter.
I think the big issue is actually whether Canelo got spooked, nervous and ended-up wanting to leave the room in a hurry.
Mayweather has virtually invented the current model of the modern pre-fight press conference routine, so he's effectively playing the game he designed.
I am not expecting him to blink in these preliminaries....not even for a second.
Conversely, this really is the first time Alvarez has entered the super-big league with literally hundreds of press guys, VIPs, sponsors and boxing industry folk examining his every move and reaction.
Things will only get meaningful in my opinion when these two meet on the scales for the weigh-in. If Alvarez turns up big, properly ripped as well as focussed and calm; it will be interesting to see how Floyd reacts.
Just as an aside; I wonder whether Canelo's lack of English works in his favour? How can Floyd upset and unsettle a guy who does not 'hablar ingles.'

lol what a ****ing idiot...where did you get that ****? :pat:
Mayweather just helping Showtime sell the fight, they know he (Canelo) is flat footed and slow, they already know all his weaknesses and how to beat him.
I wouldn't underestimate Canelo. He's at an age where he's able to add new attributes to his game, just like he did with Trout.
We say he is slow and flat-footed because we have never seen him attack his opponent but he says he intends to pressure and I expect him do so with intelligence.
DLT, I'm not even liking whats coming out of Canelo's mouth. He literally said this not too long ago, he said
"Mayweather is pretty much a complete fighter, he can fight from all angles, the only thing missing somewhat is pop but he knows how to time his opponents correctly so that his punches do damage"
Then he's constantly saying Mayweather is the best, I mean constantly...
Someone needs to tell Canelo that isn't good for promotion at all. The vibe one will get is 'Does Canelo even think he can win?'
Never bought the Floyd was scared of Canelo talk. If he was truly scared, he woulda ducked him like he's done mofos in the past (we don't have to name names at this point).
But the fight is on, so no, Floyd ain't scurrrred.
He had glasses on! How can you tell? But Putting the fear in Mayweather is almost impossible at this point in his career.
Mayweather just helping Showtime sell the fight, they know he (Canelo) is flat footed and slow, they already know all his weaknesses and how to beat him. Training Camp for Mayweather is just to stay in shape that is why all he does mostly is Pad Work with Roger and his boy Nate Jones. He knows it takes SERIOUS SKILLS to defeat him and he can already see that the generation after him is seriously lack...SKILLS they are all just Physical with no Mental or IQ. Only other fighters besides Mayweather who has the SKILLS AND BRAINS at the moment in the sport of boxing would be Andre Ward and Rigondeaux two fighters who are not anywhere close to his weight Division the rest if these fighters 99% of them are all HYPE out of desperation that one of them can beat Mayweather
That's real talk and I agree 100% Floyd knows these guys don't have the skills or the speed or IQ to beat him. I would still love to see him fight guys like Alexander, Khan, Bradley, and Berto. They bring to the table what most of his recent opponents lacked...speed and athletic ability. I think Floyd beats all 4, but they would give him the same problems Zab and Shane gave him early. The only guy I truly see beating Floyd in the future would be Broner. That means 2 years from now future. He has all the tools but not the experience at this point. 2 years from now, he will peak and enter his prime while Floyd will not be the same fighter. I still think it would be competitive, but with aging legs Floyd could not use the whole ring like in his prime. Plus at that stage, I don't think he could match Broner's hand speed. No one believes it, but that fight will happen.
