I think everybody knows I'm a huge Mayweather fan, but this is sickening. Listen to him stutter and stammer (way more than usual) over his words when responding to the question about the catchweight, and then he ultimately tries to pass it off to Leonard Ellerbe. He sounded silly trying to justify the very thing he used to talk down on. He's CLEARLY ashamed of the catchweight and he should be.
AND ALL ARE WRONG FOR DOING IT TOO. Catchweight bouts, especially the ones for titles, are ridiculous...
That is the truth! Personally I wouldn't be THAT dissappointed with Floyd had he not fought at 154lbs; however, because he's fought at that weight before he looks like a fool. It's a shame. At the end of the day he's duping the average person into believe this is a GREAT competive fight when it truly isn't "fair." There is no way to debate that.
I get that it's a business decision - the handicap is, at best, an effort to hedge the risk. However, if it's true that Canelo didn't initiate the catchweight, then this dude is a hypocrite and a liar.
he did it during the cotto build up. stop acting like it was more than that.
waaaahhhhhh! another flomos excuse! lol! darn, these floydiots are working really hard! they deserve a big hug from floydie! lol
Canelos camp offered to Mayweather to "catch" Canelo at 152, so he said OK!Canelo at the start of the negotiations said he cannot comfortably make less than 154 and Floyd still demanded he make 152. But don't let your fantasy get in the way of facts. Floyd's demand of 152 has people wondering WHY he would make that demand. Fear? Control? Spite? You name it.
lmmfaaoooo "stutter stutter stutter deer in the head lights look stutter imma let leonard answer that then imma piggy back."
ROFLMFFFAAOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's what happens when you dont finish high school and your family is full of criminal ex convicts.
What has that got to with being the best boxer in the world , the guy is honest that's what matters .
Canelo has to lose: 2 lbs out of 154 = 1.299% bodyweight
Cotto had to lose: 2 lbs out of 147 = 1.36% bodyweight!
Pacquiao made Cotto lose a higher proportion of his bodyweight than Canelo has to burn for Floyd.Yes, you are right. I can see there is a huge difference. A welterweight losing 2 extra pounds is a real drain but a Jr. middleweight losing 2 extra pounds is a piece of cake.
Just watched the vid... Damn floyd looks bad,, passing it off to leonard ellerbee,,
Thats funny,,, I thought floyd was the boss,,,,
He wants everyone at their best.. What a hypocrite
Floyd fanboys will be saying the same garbage that canelo's team wanted it..
HAHAHAHAH you are an idiot if you believe that.....
I have lost alot of respect for floyd over the past few years... Use to be my favorite from 98-2007 but since he became a huge star, he acts like a coward,,,,
Hope canelo comes in at 154 and see if floyd still fights..
Canelos camp offered to Mayweather to "catch" Canelo at 152, so he said OK!
Done, Floyd offered nothing! Personally Title fights should NOT have any weight stipulations other than what each division calls for! The Champion fighting 10 rounders should have the option for + or - a few pouinds but fighting outside their titles is to scarey these days! It should absolutely NO bearing on the fight! Theres a full 35 hours from weighin to bell time! If Canelo makes 54 easily theres nothing to make 2 more! He's a kid from christ sakes!
Ray.
I don't understand why he didn't try for a strict rehydration clause instead...seems like that would've flown more under the radar than the dreaded c-word and still kept Canelo at a reasonable weight.
My thoughts exactly,,, Rehydration clause would have been much better,, I dont think anybody would have a problem with canelo having to coming in on fight night at or under 161 or something like that
Anyone have thoughts? A rehydration clause would have been far more dignified and would have been fair and he would not have been seen in the light he has with Catchweights. I don't see why in hell Floyd chose the 152 clause instead of a demand that Canelo weigh no more that 162 the morning of the fight with a serious penalty if he falied.
You can always tell when Floyd is guilty of something he has the same response of nervousness or clueless remember this response? Floyd is a guy who knew all about power pellets and roids all of a sudden he doesn't know what TRT is which is basically injectable pellets.
yeah floyd looks bad on this one. like huh what is TRT? its the treatment you just got in the dr's office.

Okay, if that's not you, than why aren't you going in on the countless Floyd haters who said Pac-Cotto was cool, but now all of a sudden Floyd-Canelo isn't, even though it's the same f**king thing???
I don't see you posting in threads dissing the bias Floyd haters, only the bias Floyd fans. I wonder why.
Dude how many time you gotta be told, it's not the same thing. For one, these guys are fighting for the lineal belt, not some trinket that came vacant via Jennings. So that means if you wanna be The Man at 154, you prove it at 152.
Plus Floyd is #1 ranked at SWW, 2x and current champ. You don't see a difference between a champ asking to defend at a CW, and a guy asking for one moving up?
He was stuttering and stammering before the CW question, he seemed irritated and tired of answering the same questions over and over again.
That said, yeah he was embarrassed about it but people forget that he talked about possibly fighting at a catch weight before this fight.
I don't understand why he didn't try for a strict rehydration clause instead...seems like that would've flown more under the radar than the dreaded c-word and still kept Canelo at a reasonable weight.
Anyone have thoughts?
no worse than Henry Armstrong, Manny Pacquiao, Benny Leonard, Ray Leonard, Canelo Alvarez and Oscar Delahoya having catchweights
AND ALL ARE WRONG FOR DOING IT TOO. Catchweight bouts, especially the ones for titles, are ridiculous...
