Any chance Broner simply had an off night? Maybe 147 is not for him? Maybe he's simply a 135lb fighter strictly? Obviously he needs to reconsider 147 because for as tough as Paulie is chin wise his power (or lack thereof) should not have kept Broner's work rate so low. Or was it simply that Broner is still too green for such a spotlight and/or for a vet that's going to go the distance? That said, Broner did win the fight. The one thing Broner did put a stamp on is that he sure is a Grade 'A' douche bag. We knew this but he confirmed it. I dunno, it seems to me that he still has world class speed and accuracy. He didnt look great but are we making too much of this last fight? I'm undecided.
He should go back down to LW if he can, cuz that's where his power will make the most difference. He won't be able to have any more "off-nights" against the other 140/147lb fighters cuz it only gets more difficult from here. If he wants to fight guys that have little power, he should go back down to 135 and face Burns/Vasquez/Abril.
Every fighter now a days says they're gonna get a ko. Manny said he would ko Juan
He tried to though. He went crazy bro vs JMM n it backfired on him big time.
How can people say it is an ''off performance'' when Malignaggi is the best fighter he has fought? If he collected dominant wins over opponents who would be good in any division, then struggled with Malignaggi, I'd be more inclined to say it was an off night. But as things stand he has not shown that he is capable of more.
this is like his 3 off night how manny does he need to have befor everybody starts to say he is not that great , his off night figths Paul Malignaggi,Daniel Ponce De Leon,Fernando Quintero LOL
yes he could have but 2 things:
he ahd a close one with De Leon
he talked so much **** about KTFO paulie he wont get a pass.

Everyone thought he would ko Paulie or punish him for 12. He did niether. He's still gonna be good though. In boxing your only as good as your last fight so the criticism is understandable. He did good but far from great.
