Why wasn't he deducted points? That is usually the kind of infraction that doesn't get a warning and is straight away 2 points.
It was clearly not an accident, he just straight up decided to kick Paulie in the nuts. So why no point?
Is attempting to hit your opponent while your back is turned illegal too? I've never seen that attempted before tonight either.
I remember Joe Calzaghe lost a point immediately for throwing a punch behind is back against Jeff Lacy.
If Malignaggi was wrapped around his kness he wouldn't have been able to kick him in the nuts.
Paulie did have the legs, but Broner didn't have to all that **** he did to keep his balance. Should have had something deducted for all the nonsense that went on.
Grabbing behind the leg is what happens when you get pushed down and cant grab behind the back. Its technically a foul, but it was an unintentional one that was the result of Broner pulling him down.
Broners foul was intentional. He didn't accidentally kick his leg into Paulies groin. He wasn't stumbling off balance trying to regain his footing, he just straight up decided to play dirty with it, and he got away with it.
He probably should have been DQed for the stunt, at the very least he should have been deducted 2 points for unsportsmanlike conduct.
you are not seeing things clearly if that's what you believe happened in this case. it is clear as day that maglinaggi is not using broner's body to keep from being pushed down. he gets behind both knees and drives forward with many steps. that's not an act designed to keep from being pushed to the ground.
maglinaggi has clinched around the waist and sometimes lower in many fights. when he's close he gets low. he always has. if it's really neccessary i can waste part of my sunday finding them, but i'd prefer it if you remember the khan and hatton fights.
neither fighter is innocent. broner committed plenty of fouls throughout the fight. that doesn't mean paulie didn't clinch behind his knees. watch the replay at the end of the second round. there are two fouls. i'm not excusing either. you are excusing malignaggi's.

no gifs that i knwo if, but if you've got showtime they'll be showing replays. if not, the fight will pop up online before it gets taken down. eventually they'll just let it stay up.
it happened in the second round, and the best view is a replay at the end. it shows the leg being lifted intentionally, and the clinch behind both knees that preceded it.
Without remembering it I think to much is being made of it. Vitali kicked Lennox.
I was pretty drunk last night, so i saw, but I missed it. Any gifs?

There was one point when Broner tried to do the "it's protect yourself at all times" Mayweather move. Broner fouled Malignaggi and on the break Broner tried to run over with a left-hook right hand, while Malignaggi was not ready.
what floyd mayweather did to victor ortiz was completely legal.
Paulie was not grabbing the leg like he was taking him down, he wasn't lifting it, he was just trying to hold on to something so he didn't go down from Broner pushing him down.
Thats right, innocent boy Broner PULLED PAULIE DOWN AND KICKED HIM IN HTE BALLS. Then hit him on the break....

lifting a leg is illegal in boxing, and the step preceding a takedown.

Kicking in the nuts, kidney punches, spinning uppercuts, back hands on breaks and i didnt even see 1 stern warning
Whats the point of a ref? He was clearly afraid to warn Broner
Al Haymon probably had his family at gun point.
Hey they wear cups so no big deal, its a fight! Broner should have looked better but he had to chase Paulie around all night! Theres a reason Paulie was on the move, he felt Broner and knew he had to get on the bike or get KO'd. A few kidney shots and rabbit punches never hurt anyone! HA! Ray
It's rather disgusting that you're trying to justify the use of illegal blows just because it's a fight. Yeah, it is a fight, but there are still rules to be abided by. And yeah I know that subtle uses of elbows and the head on the inside have been used to soften opponents up throughout the history of the sport, but blatant rabbit punching, kidney punches and foot-swinging to the groin is not on.
Even though I don't think he hurt Paulie with that kick, it was a blatant foul. When someone kicks or knees or a blatantly uses his elbow they should get an automatic deduction. There should be no warning, it not like a punch that stays down low. You can accidentally headbutt someone or hit them low, there is no accidentally kicking someone in boxing.
Esteves must be in uncle Al's pocket too. We know Haymon has some deep pockets.

Lifting your leg is fine. Its the dramatic straightening of said leg and the reaction of everyone involved that lets you know how incidental the contact was.
Broner is like "But I iz with Haymon!!!" CMON IZ A HAYMON FIGHTA!!!"
Paulie goes to the corner and crouches down like "OWWW HE JUST KICKED ME IN THE NUTS!".
That says every everything you need to know.

what do you think of broner?
i thought he looked like garbage last night myself, and don't like his prospects at 147. he may lose to matthysse @ 140 if they fight.
