And Schaefer says that he is still very confident of Matthysse-Garcia, but says that Peterson-Judah has basically evaporated #boxing
I guess this means Alvarado vs Judah is has a strong chance of being made then..Which sucks..I would much rather see Alvarado vs Prov..
I wouldn't be surprised if Judah got Broner next.
"Schaeffer optimistic Garcia vs Matthysse will happen"
It went from the fight will be done this week (last week) to still optimistic about it... Yea this sh1t ain't gonna happen. And if it does on the west coast...? F*ck GB.

Boardwalk Hall isnt a big enough venue. They want 15000 plus at the gate.
if they want 15,000 they better go to argentina. they not getting that anywhere in the u.s.
BTW, I could also see GBP waiting to see what happens on Saturday. If Mitchell wins then you could still have a card in D.C. with Seth and maybe Russell Jr. on the undercard
put judah peterson on the undercard of garcia - matthysse
thats what its always been. It started off though in D.C.
It was suppose to be Garcia-Lucas headlining with Zab-LP on the undercard in a packed house because of how close LP, Zab, & Danny are to D.C.
Thats the problem now
Boardwalk Hall is free on Sept. 7 and Oct. 12/19/26, and the Barclays is free on Oct. 12/19. There's no reason why this fight can't be made on the east coast.
Schaeffer said previously that AC is booked up for Sep 7th. Boardwalk Hall's website has nothing listed but that doesn't mean it isn't booked. It's possible that whatever event is taking place on that date hasn't been announced yet. It's two and a half months away, not out of the ordinary.
GBP is pushing hard for this fight to happen on Sep 7th. They want to use it to promote the Floyd-Canelo PPV the very next week. They obviously think it's important to have a good fight on the 7th that will put viewers in the right mood to shell out cash for a PPV the next week.
I'm still puzzled by Dodger stadium though. Neither fighter has a following on the west coast. They should look at the arena in Jersey where the Devils play (IZOD?). They can't put it in New York City due to the exclusive deal they have with Barclay's Center so that would rule out Yankee Stadium and Citifield as well.

If this is true then idk why it's not getting in AC or Brooklyn.

When has the last time a major fight been made with this little time left? There's barely a month and half left now, and it hasn't been made. Surprise, surprise.
September 7 is two and a half months away. That's plenty of time. I still don't think it gets made though LOL
This is the hold up in my opinion. The venue. GB wants September 7th but they can't get Brooklyn or AC on that date. Judah vs Peterson is dead so DC is maybe out. Think about the interview yesterday at the signing he had in Brooklyn. He mentioned September or OCTOBER. He said he wanted it on the east coast and specifically said those two places. I'm guessing he's telling GB he wants it in Brooklyn or AC in October when they can possibly get a date in 1 of those 2 places. He's not trying to go to Cali for this fight. I think it's better on the east coast. AC would be fair being that Lucas just fought there. Brooklyn would be home field advantage in Danny's favor. Kinda. Let's see what happens.
I care, I care, I care. You guys are missing the point. The Peterson-Judah fight was huge because the venue was suppose to be in DC. Mostly every other hotspot on the East Coast is booked up. Now without Zab-Peterson, they will probably move it out West. A couple of weeks ago all the fans hated that idea and thought it would be much better on the East but now you guys act like you dont care.
BTW, you all should care because its clear from the other vid that Garcia wants an East Coast fight. He's less likelier to sign or he would want more money to fight him out West. He wants that home venue advantage. He wants to bring Philly out and alot of them wont make it to Cali. He wants that advantatge for this fight so you all should care
Its clear that its not impossible for Schaffer to make Garcia-Lucas so thats the part you shouldnt care about. The fight is gonna get made. Now its just about the venue and most want it on the East Coast, espically me since Im from the DC area......lol
However, if its in LA then I may just fly out to Vegas a few days earlier for Floyd-Canelo. I might just fly to LA on that Saturday, watch the fihgt and then go to Vegas
If Garcia turns down this fight because he has to fight in Cali, that's a duck and deserves to be treated as such. Never heard Matthysse complain when he had to fight in Alexander's and Judah's backyards AND get robbed.

There's absolutely no reason Peterson-Judah should make or break whether this fight happens. They were talking west coast before this news anyway.
