Not much.
Roy's legacy isn't all that damaged in my book, as I think about a fighters greatness before he was shot. Same with Pacquiao.
However, there is no chance Rios wins this. None. His style is ALL wrong against Pac.
This loses don't count thing is really stupid. So you can have great wins and lose 5 fights in a row to end your career, and it means nothing? Somebody give me a logical explanation for this.......
The same thing about Pac early 2 ko losses. It didn't stop him to became the first and only 8 divisions title holder and 4 lineal champions in the world, Pac started pro at the age of 16 from 106 lbs all the way up to light middleweight.
His current losses right now and future loss will not make those accomplishments disappear into thin air and broke the records somehow. Until someone break it, those accomplishments will stand the test of time and nobody may able to surpass these records for many millenniums no matter how these haters saying it is easy to duplicate.
the same thing would happen to pac in what happened to a post prime roy jones, mike tyson, hollyfield and so on
everyone knows the beast version of the 147 pacman that beat cotto would have knocked guys like rios and marquez out. Anyone can see that since pac went into politics, he was on a decline, kind of like oscar was when he became a part time fighter
pac only trained in training camps, outside he was on the hot seat, he went downhill not training between camps, look at the marquez fight, the guy gassed after a few rounds and has lost his skills with his movement which he used to use to launch devastating combos
rios is fighting a past prime pac, I still think even a 75 percent pac can beat rios, the problem is, the pac I saw against marquez was at about 80 percent of his best, if he has slipped more then rios will kill him
What makes you think the Pacquiao that beat Cotto knocks Marquez out? When has Marquez ever been KO'd? Manny couldn't do it in 4 tries.
LMAO @ these butthurt floydiots and their alts. Despite of Pac losses still a lot of people putting Pac above that self admitted a rich coward who confessed he cherry picked his fights for his advantages. Floyd has no love for you because you don't pay his bills.:chairshot

I don't know why so many of you say that loses don't impact a fighters legacy...that's dumb. You don't just judge fighters based on great wins. You have to take the totality of a fighters career into account, and that includes loses. Loses are a part of the resume too. If Roy Jones would have retired before the 2nd Tarver fight do you think he'd be held in a higher reagard?
it would depend on whether he goes into retirement or continues fighting to the point that people become more familiar with his shot version. If he lost and then retired his legacy wouldn't take a hit, most of the fans nowadays watched him growing up so they'd just accept that he was shot.
If he loses and then continues to fight, ala roy jones, his legacy would take a hit. Whether people want to admit it or not casual fans make up a large majority. In about 5 years time there will be a new generation of fans, some of which won't take the time to do their research, as a result they'd be more accustomed to pacquiao as a shell of his former self. They wouldn't appreciate him as pacquiao the destroyer, or have a belief ( even if misguided) in his invincibility.
exactly......... Well stated my man........
Pac can lose his next 5 fights and his legacy won't take a hit.....dude paid his dues and did his thing....Pac is certified!!!.....I keep saying the same thing about Roy and James Toney, they're certified....those legacies are untouchable....sorry haters!! :boxing:
not true at all.... Do you still feel the same about ROY???
Roy has taken a big hit. BOXING HAS ALWAYS BEEN A WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY SPORT.......
I remember watching Terry Norris beat leonard........ I was hurt, if leonard would have lost x4 more after that it would have been bad as well even worse.....
Any fighter that was considered great and loses x6 fights straight (countin da marquez knock out) will fall so far into obscurity it aint even funny.......
especially considering there should not be x5 fighters that can beat PAC..... Come on bro........ This also applies to floyd if he loses five fights straight, of course da legacy takes a hit.. just like it rises if its against good competition and he won...
After the marquez fight look at the articles about pac.... far and few between.....
Hes fighting RIOS!!! This aint no good fight at all. I would expect pac to beat rios and I would bet my house on it... but if he lost....... to rios????? I cant comment any further..............
What do you think?
It would say that he made bad decisions not learning to actually box and relied too much on his speed and athleticism instead of honing his craft. It wold further solidify that he wasnt ready for any version of mayweather seeing that people saw the clinic and the video response of marquez saying he doesnt want a mayweather rematch, and also losing to a guy like rios who just lost his last fight seeing this was a fight that was supposed to make him look invincible again......
Look at how many people on this very site abandoned him when he was knocked out and there are rarely any articles about him...
Again take into account that he hasnt looked good in any of his last ifghts with the exception of marquez as Marquez realized to beat pac he needed to knock him out like many on here knew he had to do.... so marquez sacrificed speed for strength.....
Manny loses this fight and he is done some will say hes great some will say after the ped accusations he lost his invincibility etc.
if rios wins he will not be launched into superstardom... truth is x2 losers of their last fight are fighting.....
pac is done even rios is expected to lose even in pacs current state, thats how weak rios is........
i read pac is thinking that a floyd fight will result in pac beating rios........ rios is nothing and if floyd was fighting him that would be a cherry pick pullin da damn tree up by its roots lol
Nothing.
His legacy is already sealed.
He goes down in history as the man who turned down $50m because he did not want drug tests.
He also goes down in history as the man who fought has beens all his life.
priceless coming from a man who keeps on sucking a guy who has ducked and contradicted himself whilst spouting lies about being the best through his whole career
the hate is strong in this one:usa::usa:

Nothing but you'll ask yourself what would have been if he didn't walk away from a drug test 3 years ago. Would he of been fighting past his prime and having financial problems had he KO'd Mayweather instead of challenging Clottey? Unfortunately the world will never know....
H got to the point where his punch resistance isn't high anymore, they all do!!
His career is sealed as a terrific fighter and the number one competitor of his era!!!
The man Mayweather ducked for years as his number one contender!!! Ray.
Nothing.

Pac's legacy is fine and as it stands, better than floyd's. legacy is based on what you did do, not what you didn't. Unfortunately floyd he avoided too many risks. Thats why he will never have that type of raw legacy such as Leonard, who despite few losses and less fights, has the better legacy... By fighting the best.
Manny always fights the best, the same cant be said about floyd, and its clear for everyone now that its floyd that wanted none of manny.
Lets make no mistake, pac looked beastly last time out and was seriously messing up marquez until he got careless...
You contradict yourself in back to back sentences. Also Floyd is the favorite in every fight that you say he avoided. Even at that time, so it's the same as always.... he'll lose then its a cherry pick when he dominates. He could've avoided no one and it'd be the same outcome. As far as legacy goes I think floyd is ranked just slightly higher than pac on most lists which is fair, seeing as of this era theyre seen as #1/#2 respectively. I just wish they'd have fought back when =x
