News Release
This morning upsideyourhead.com was informed that the upcoming fight between Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins and Karo "Who The F*ck?" Murat had been cancelled due to Visa problems.
Murat, who hails from some godforsaken country on the other side of the world, will appeal the decision but it is apparent that the appeals process will be prolonged and therefore the decision was made to cancel the fight.
When the news reached the internet this morning boxing fans immediately began piling into the streets throughout the country celebrating the cancellation of a potentially atrocious fight that nobody other than the challenger cared about.
Richard Schaeffer, promoter of Hopkins, was giddy when we spoke to him. "Look you know, it's tough luck for what's his face, but we gotta move on. We have some opportunities out there that are bigger than the fight. We could make any number of fights between Bernard and fighters whose names I can remember by heart".
Hopkins, as usual, was mum on the topic. "Look I don't even know who this guy is so how can I be upset?? Oscar just asked me if I wanted an easy fight against one of those European guys with the weird names and pretty little records and I said yeah, bring him on, let me get up in that @ss one time."
Boxing fan Ronald Swinton, of Minneapolis, MN had an explanation for what brought about the merciful cancellation of a dreadful match.
"When I heard that this fight was made I was distraught. It was the worst idea I had heard since my ex wife proposed turning our 9 year old daughter into a whore back in '08. I got down on my knees that night and prayed to the good lord that he would cancel this fight and save me from the pain. Save all of us boxing fans from the pain. I know now that God hears prayers. He is a good and merciful God and he loves boxing fans."
Pretty needless to bag the guy's country imo. He's Armenian by all accounts, same as Arthur Abraham (and the beloved Kardashians by descent). Both fight out of Germany.
His wiki says he was born in Iraq! Tho of Armenian origin, it seems.

Thank you for that information that I already knew.
Getting his country of origin spot on really wouldn't have gone along with the rest of the gag. imo

I would much rather watch something than nothing. Not that i was excited but at least it was boxing
I agree.
Theres plenty of "can't fight guys" all over the place! Bernard will find one its what he's good at! Oscar will keep the guy happy even though it only appeals to the "fanbouys" who think Bernard is the 8th wonder of the world!!!
Hey that "old guy" Stevenson just won some title, he's up there in age and maybe his feet are slow!! That might make a perfect match for Bernard???
Oh thats right he could punch a little bit......................why chance it? Ray
BULLSHIT ! This one is in my damn borough and I couldn't give two donkey dicks and a goats ass about this bout whatsoever.
It's ironic that the guy who disappeared off the face of the Earth when Amir Khan got clowned comes around to talk about how he is the standard for being a hardcore fan.
I don't believe it. The link doesn't work.
I hope the fight is still on. This one isn't for you casual fans. It's for us real, hardcore, boxing fans. Styles make fights. And this fight stylistically, is gonna be like an Italian handmade tuxedo.

Green K for this breaking news i love this boxing writer where can i find more of his amazing writing?
Haha. I've been banned for doing these and misleading people like wazaa who think they are real and go searching the internet for verification.
I'm glad someone appreciates them.
I suspect that nothing, as in literally just nothing, staring into a endless completely white hallway would be as exciting as this fight would have been.Maybe but we will never know now

Maybe they can use the money that was going towards this worthless stinker to sign some bigger fights? Generally people want to spend their budget before it gets taken away at the end of the year.
Either way I am just glad the fella in the news story said his prayers and got this thing cancelled with a little help from the big guy upstairs.

I'm not sure what news I would be happier with.
The annoucment of Mayweather-Pacquaio in 2010 or the cancellation of this fight.
Most likely the cancellation of what would have been the most horrible, dull, and worthless title fights in the history of the sport.

It has all the makings of fight of the decade. I'm saddened by it's cancellation.
