Hi, I'm new here so I thought I'd tell you guys who my fave fighters are at this very moment, in no particular order:
Sergio Martinez
Manny Pacquiao
Bernard Hopkins
Miguel Cotto
Floyd Mayweather
Kell Brook
Tyson Fury
Wlad Klitschko
David Haye
GGG
Danny Garcia
Amir Khan
Lucas Matthysse
Ricky Burns
Carl Froch
Carl Frampton
Nonito Donaire
Timothy Bradley
Ruslan Provodnikov
Jean Pascal
Mikkell Kessler
Marco Huck
Dennis Lebedev
Arislandy Lara
Keith Thurman
Marcos Maidana
1. Matthysse/Rigondeaux
3. JMM
4. Kovalev
5. BHOP
All except Kovalev are 30 or older, I need to start supporting more younger fighters to get some longevity in my nuthugging.
I have that same problem...
1. Gamboa
2. Rigondeaux
3. Haye
4. Froch
I do like Kell Brook, but through injury he's still not operating at world level so...
1. Matthysse/Rigondeaux
3. JMM
4. Kovalev
5. BHOP
All except Kovalev are 30 or older, I need to start supporting more younger fighters to get some longevity in my nuthugging.
Kovalev looks like a find. He has stunning power and knows how to box.
Oh and just a quick note on the whole Garcia/Matthysse argument, I like both fighters and if the fight is made, it will in my opinion be the best fight this year, unless Wlad/Vitali gets made :hail:
Both men have real power, none of that wear you down crap, they hit guys flush and guys tumble like the Berlin wall. It's beautiful to watch, the left hooks which obliterated Khan and Morales were stunning and the right hand which dropped Peterson like a sack of potatoes was scary. The man who wins is the guy with the better chin and better skills.
Matthysse is faster but I actually think Garcia has the better allround skill set. Both men have untested whiskers, for now. Who ever wins is almost irrelevant because this is a fight for all boxing fans.
I like your list, you seem like a true fan of the sport. You can tell a hater, it's always either or. As in Ward or Froch, Pac or May, Rigo or Donaire, Lucas or Danny.
Mine=Floyd-Ward-GGG-Quillon-Sergio-Canelo-Lara-Broner-Tcrawford-Rigo-Mares-Wilder-Moreno-Donaire-Matthysse-DGarcia-Froch-Santa cruz and many more
As you can see I like a lot of fighters, different styles.
That's the way it should be, we should all love boxing and the people who do it best. I am sure all of us like particular fighters more than others, for example I prefer Hopkins over the likes of Taylor, Pavlik, Toney everyday but I can recognise they had their own value.
And for anyone thinking my list is too long here's a top 5, again in no particular order:
Wlad
BHop
Pacquiao
Martinez
GGG
1. Matthysse/Rigondeaux
3. JMM
4. Kovalev
5. BHOP
All except Kovalev are 30 or older, I need to start supporting more younger fighters to get some longevity in my nuthugging.
Maravilla, Floyd, Rigo, Matthysse, Bradley, Ward, Froch, Provodnikov, Wilder, Ricky Burns, Marquez, Pac, Cotto, Santa Cruz, Maidana, Josesito Lopez, Arreola, the Klitschkos even though they're too good, and more
My top 5
1. Canelo Alvarez
2. Floyd Mayweather Jr.
3. Lucas Matthysse
4. Abner Mares
5. Carl Froch
Honorable mentions: Leo Santa Cruz and Marcos Maidana.

On a serious note tho, we have a rule around here. You can't be a fan of Garcia AND Lucas. You gotta choose ONE dawg.

I mean, you can choose the humble guy who has paid his dues, bbqs wild iguanas, fights any and everyone given to him. Never complains of his robberies (even the one of his home) and continues to improve and work hard. Additionally, the guy is a bad@ss just made one of the best in the division look silly and amateurish.
Or you can root for the guy who is a fashion guru, fights washed-up fighters way past their primes (and struggles significantly), or those born without a chin. Moreover, he is being protected from fighting the best, although he holds two titles (+ the ring belt). If he didn't have the belts or was rated as a top 140-pounder, then he wouldn't receive as much criticism. DG is the equivalent of pre-Trout Canelo: holding a title, ranked 2-3 in the division, has not fought anyone of note (arguably Khan), and groomed far too long given his ranking and alleged credentials. Even if its Haymon that decides DG shouldn't fight Matthysse, he still looks a lot more like Canelo than others will admit.
I heard as a part of his new fashion statement, DG's going to dye his hair red. It suits him.
BBQ'ing iguanas = most badassness thing you can do in life. Real men hunt and BBQ iguanas. Wannabe's make rap videos and act hard on TV.
