because I don't. I hope that now you understand what fighters go through.
I truly hope that Angulo is ok. He fought his heart out and had me rooting for him. Had Angulo fought on and pleased you, but became blind...who pays for his medical bills, you the fan?
That is how you fight a cutey. Angulo kept coming like a Mack truck. Whether it was the straight left, a thumb, a butt or elbow...that damage was caused. I think it was the straight left all night. I'll watch the video.
To Lara's credit he survived and kept fighting himself. I love the fact that he winked under pressure. That is the sign of a confident fighter under pressure.
Kudos to the winner and loser.
I had to quit, because my ability to think in a logical and rational manner was at risk. My brain was taking too much abuse from the retardation taking place in this thread. When faced with the real possibility of turning into a retard myself, I did what was best for me and my family.
Nobody has a right to fault me for this one, or say that I quit. Because I didn't.
Perfect example here.
Bringer is quitting because his brain has been battered to mush by this thread, however, I'm persevering. It's an injury that has forced his retirement but he still quit.
...and listen motherfucker. Don't give me no Abraham shit here, we are both suffering from some form of neurological injury but my heart is pulling me through.
It's time like these that separate the casual posters from keyboard warriors and I have the heart of a warrior.
You are though, maybe you don't realise it.
You can't say, 'I don't see it as quitting' when the word describes exactly what it is. You can say, 'yes he quit but not because he didn't want anymore but because he was injured'.
I'm sure me, Bringer & Reed all share the same opinion that it was injury that caused Angulo to abandon his pursuit. However, I do get a small sense of frustration from him when he retired.
Don't fuck with the English language, son.
Epic ending.
This thread has met its DMize.
funny stuff.
that said I can only tell you my position. if a boxers ability to fight is compromised by an injury-I dont see it as quitting.
question-If angulo stopped fighting because of a low blow, ref gives him 5 minutes, he says I can't go on, is that quitting?
Perfect example here.

this thread is an odd read
@ Dunn; why are you so gung ho arguing Angulo didn't quit?
you've got a right to your opinion, but this seems cut and dry
honestly can't tell if you're trolling or serious here
I wasn't gong ho when this started yesterday. it has deviated a lot. I gave my reasons.
This is where you are wrong.
It IS quitting.
Because two fighters can get the SAME EXACT injury, one can fight through the pain and the other cannot.
The guy who couldnt deal with the pain, isn't quitting?
In what world?
Yeah, Im done.
Your view is warped.
as is your position that only extreme injuries determine whether an athlete quits or not.
you said yourself a broken arm makes it impossible to fight so its not quitting. so as soon as one fighter fights with a broken arm all those after that dont fight are quitters?
yeah that makes sense.
the only difference is which injuries we use for the threshhold of "not being able to compete".
yeah its best to go niether of us are going to change our position and personal insults are probably on the horizon.

It depends on who decides that he can't compete anymore.
If it's the athlete, he's quitting.
Unless there is a verb that describes what he did that isn't the same as quit.
I've given my position and i'm clearly in the minority when it comes to you, bringer and reed. I'm not arguing the definition of quitting.
I made it clear that if an injury makes you unable to continue its not quitting IMO.
This is where you are wrong.

But you have an ass backward way of twisting events into favor your argument.
Ortiz quit because clearly he couldn't continue because his injury was bad enough, Abrahams wasn't because he continued.
That is the dumbest logic ever.
How about Abraham has bigger balls than Ortiz?
Pretty similar god damn injuries if I do say so myself.
A physical inability is a torn achilles and not being able to run... that's not a mental state, thats a physical INABILITY.
Pain tolerance is just that PAIN TOLERANCE, and it varies.
NOBODY can run with a torn achilles.
SOME PEOPLE can gut through pain and others can't... thats a matter of will power.
Some boxers quit with a broken hand, others gut through it. Some quit with a broken jaw, others gut through it. Some quit when their eye hurts, others would rather die in the ring than quit.
Angulo quit, whether he had a broken orbital bone or not. Period, end of.
Ortiz quit because clearly he couldn't continue because his injury was bad enough, Abrahams wasn't because he continued. of course I didn't excatly say that.
I didn't twist a ****ing thing. I made it clear that if an injury makes you unable to continue its not quitting IMO. I didn't disagree with any point you made regarding pain tolerance. Obviously an achilles is an extreme example. but you imply that if its not an extreme injury then the fighter quit.
I dont agree.
But regarding angulo I was wrong.
