:lol1: dude, Lara/Canelo was the past. I had Lara clearly beating Canelo like many others did. Your boy got a another controversial decision, get over it it's 2015 for fuks sake. The fight to look forward to and get hype for now is Cotto/Canelo on Cinco de Mayo weekend! This is where you will see the difference between elite (Cotto) and good (Canelo).
WAR COTTO! :boxing:
Wtf? You're the one who came into this thread and decided to comment on it. I just was simply curious to know how you can have a 7-5 card in a fight with many close rounds and call it a clear win.
Lara clearly won the fight, deal with it :bottle:
Now it's Cotto's turn to whip his ass on Cinco de Mayo weekend :boxing:
You scored it 7-5 for Lara one swing round and you have it a draw. How the fvck is that clear when you have it so close? Not to mention you have a clear agenda against Alvarez.
Seems like there is no room for error on Lara's part, huh? Surely Canelo did no wrong in that scrap. "Lara needed to grasp the moment" is a bunch of bullshit.
Like I said on my previous post, fights are scored rd by rd-- there is no debating this. Unless we are judging based on popularity which in this case we shouldn't call it a sport.
Look Lara could've easily come away with a split decision because it was such a close fight. It wasn't close because Lara held back, but because he's simply not a better fighter than Alvarez. All this talk of he could've won clearly if he just threw more is ****.He's not clearly a better fighter even if you feel he should've won that fight.
There's nothing clear about a 7-5 type of fight. No need to go over that topic again.
The issue I was addresing is how Lara apparently decided to win a close decision instead of embarrassing the opponent he'd been begging to get into ring. If you're clearly better you prove it in the ring and that's something he couldn't do, because he's not a better fighter than Alvarez.

Lara made it an ugly fight. Doesn't mean we stop scoring fights round by round. Lara clearly should have won a close, ugly fight.
'Fans' of the entertainment industry got what they wanted... oh well - move on.

How generous of Lara to "hold back"in the biggest fight of his life and not embarrass Canelo, the guy he's been after for years. Good thing he saved his best performance for a guy like Ishe Smith.

Lara won that fight.
He just allowed it to be closer than it needed to be. He was clearly the better fighter, but he gave away some rounds by not throwing, you can't do that against Canelo as the judges are in his favour.

He got his chance, and showed up for a track meet.
Why are you digging up your own old thread? Seems like you have too much free time. Lara did beat Canelo (although he looked average) but got robbed of a decision.
you better keep canelo away from lara thats all i am saying, i hope the wbc finally gives the dude the shot he deserves

Can somebody tell me why people put Canelo above other fighters lol
it seriously boggles my mind.... imo lara's skill, conditioning, heart and experience is leagues above canelo.
canelo should be fighting lara next and teh winner of that should get a shot at floyd...but since canelo is the golden goose of gbp he gets a shortcut at a big payday while guys like lara have to fight endless wbc eliminators...
Lara may not be a hard puncher, but he hits hard enough to stop most fighters in their tracks, and Angulo walked through it like nothing. Alvarez's power is not the type that would have Angulo out early.
I don't see how that means anything.
Kermit Cintron kept a prime Angulo in his tracks. This is the Angulo who isn't getting rocked by a feather fisted nobody.
Canelo would literally hit Angulo at will and his chin isn't going to take that kind of punishment on a consistent basis.
This is the same Angulo who was getting stunned left and right by the light punching nobody in his fight prior to his last one?
No way is Angulo seeing 12 with Canelo, I doubt he see's 6.
It's nothing to do with Canelo being THAT good it's all to do with Angulo being THAT bad.
