Chunky did alright tonight. Nothing special, not quite sure about the stoppage. As for Groves v DeGale 2, I firmly believe DeGale lost the first fight because he looked uninterested at certain points throughout the fight and allowed Groves to back him up and hurt him. Even with Chunks not at his best, Groves barely got a decision, I personally had it as a draw. But the rematch is useless now because Chunks brings nothing to the table. He is fighting on channel 5 and is fighting nobodies.
Groves on the other hand has moved onwards and upwards. He has definitely improved and fights for longer periods each round. I reckon Groves v Stieglitz needs to be made now.
Lol you firmly believe DeGale lost but also, it was a draw? :wtf1:
I like degale, i was hoping he would shine tonight. But he looked average against a very limited guy. He's lucky that guy cant crack an egg because he took some shots.
I think people need to relax with the criticism here & analyze the situation....it wasn't a opponent he did too much research on...he pretty much trained for a couple of weeks & went to box....no specif game plan.
Give DeGale a well known name...I'm pretty sure he'll be watching tapes, 8 week training camp & implementing certain game plans. He'll perform better....but saying that, i think he's rushing to the world level to quickly, some professionals find out the hard way that the level they want to fight on is much harder & different then they expect, it's a whole new ball game.
On what basis would Groves stop DeGale? Absolute stupidity. You both sound like you've opened your mouths to suck the Matchroom dick and are buying into the Groves hype.
On the basis Sierra would stop DeGale.
You spout hate towards Matchroom in almost every post. Are you a fan of protected fighters, or something? ARE YOU FRANK/FRANCIS WARREN?
On what basis would Groves stop DeGale? Groves was the only one who looked like he could get stopped in the first fight.
Groves has improved beyond measure since they fought. DeGale looks like he's regressed.
Tell Hennesey to put you in with a top 10 fighter at least next time James, instead of admiring your work against someone which proves nothing.
Winner of the Bika fight, Stieglitz, Abraham, plenty of options if you want to step up.
All too dangerous for James.
As it stands, he'll get sparked at world level. He should have dumped that trainer of his after the Groves fight.

I don't disagree. Groves never wanted the fight but if they did fight, I think Groves would stop DeGale. I had Groves winning by a single point but I wouldn't say it was a robbery.
Degale showing the same mistakes as before.
Pitty pat punches with next to no power and is easily hit on the inside.
There's many things he does very well but for me these two parts of his game are big weaknesses.
Far more impressed with where Groves is at this point.
Pretty much. He'll struggle at elite/world level throwing shots like that.
