JAMES DEGALE aims to learn from the best when he comes face-to-face with a man who knows about beating Carl Froch.
The Londoner defends his WBC silver super-middleweight title against Croatian Stjepan Bozic, at Bluewater, in Kent, on Saturday night.
And DeGale, who says he wants to meet IBF and WBA champ Froch in a major domestic dust-up, knows he will have his work cut out against rugged veteran Bozic.
The 38-year-old has won 26 of his 32 professional bouts but it was while he was in the amateur ranks that he put paid to Froch’s Olympic dreams.
He defeated him in the quarter-finals of the European Championships in Finland as Froch’s bid to make Team GB for the Sydney Olympics faltered and eventually collapsed. Click Here To Read More]
DeGale's recent opposition on the whole HAS been better than Groves'.
A Euro level fighter? Well yes he actually won the European Title unlike Groves
Groves beat DeStiff,easily.
Groves has by far fought the better competition.
Sierra KTFO's DeStiff in 4 rounds.
Paul Smith,Glen Johnson,Sierra, Anderson and Alcoba for Groves.
DeStiff head butted his way to terrible-looking win over Anderson, barely beat Wilczewski in a gift hometown Brit decision, and struggled mightly vs Mohamadi (human punching bag).

Yes, a euro-level fighter. He'll probably get sparked sometime soon.
Who? Your posts are quite laughable in this thread.
Yeah....he's better than anyone Groves has been facing. Unless you count an 80 year old Glen Johnson who came to collect a paycheque.
Well, you claimed that DeGale's opposition has been "better than anyone Groves has faced". That's the ONLY laughable post in this thread.
DeGale is a euro-level fighter.
Why would Froch fight this guy?
DeGale is an Olympic gold medallist, that goes a long way in the UK in terms of name recognition. He's also fighting on Channel 5, the only terrestrial TV channel still showing boxing (they also show Fury).
Financially, this fight would probably do better than some of Froch's other options like Oosthuizen and Stieglitz.
Id love james to humble carl.
Even a robbery would be good for james (carl robs james sd).
James would have to put on his running shoes for sure, and the robot froch would follow around the ring.
Angry dirrell (after losing point) hurt froch, best punch of the fight.
Id like to see froch face both groves and degale, his kind of in calz position, he could say no and face some aged people overseas
Froch could spend a week doing his lady, drinking beers, and playing with his kids before beating Chunky. De Gale is De Stiff !!! Groves is next best by far at 168 lbs in U.K. and easily beat DeStiff. No,it's Ward vs Froch that we all want James or Froch vs Kesslar III...not you at all. De Gale is mid-level Euro fighter at best, top 12-15 at 168 is all he will ever be. :boxing::boxing::boxing:
Where'd you pull that shit from?
Hennessy got a deal with channel 5 for fuck sake, look at Fury's progression, Eubank Jr fought 8 times last year, DeGale is fighting at a good level.
Oh, did you forget DeGale fought less than 3 weeks ago in Canada? Get a fucking clue, seriously.
Mate, don't blow a fuse. I said most. Not including Tyson Fury. Look where Degale is compared to Groves. One is about to fight for a world title on a massive show and the other is fighting a Polish guy with 6 losses. So Degale is fighting stiffs every 4 weeks? Who gives a sh*t? Nobody?
Some people will say anything for attention. He'll be lucky if he could even get a sparring session with Froch. What could Froch possibly gain by fighting DeGale?
Degale is talking the trash now, as he knows Froch is the kind of person who rises to bait and don't like people bullying him with words.
Degale knows if he talks enough he will get himself a fight. Its a fight I would like to see as Degale is quite elusive and could make it hard for Froch, landing wise.
Froch threw almost 1000 punches in his last fight against Kessler. I'm sure that if he lands at 20% he has more than enough to easily beat DeGale, most likely by KO.

I like James, but come off it.
Carl Froch would utterly massacre him. James has a silly slap thing going on with his punches, Froch would laugh as he walked through those and butcher James on the ropes.
I honestly think George Groves would win a clear decision if he fought DeGale again. Groves has come on leaps and bounds since their first fight. If he can't beat Groves, he has NO chance of beating Froch. Carl would annihilate him.
