I watched him against the excellent Trout. Very enjoyable fight. Pure quality from both guys, Trout i feel would be Floyd. Was outclassed.
Canelo at the age of 22, is so good. hIS HEAD MOVEMENT is the best in the world, some of his upper cuts were a thing of beauty.
If he improves his workrate and cardio to say frochs level, he would be literally unstoppable. I feel the cardio aspect is whats holding him back to being the best fighter ever.

BEST EVER?????? That's a pretty big statement.. He might be one of the best of his era, but highly unlikely he will be better than floyd, manny, SRL, Hagler, Hearns etc...
Not trying to diss on Canelo but def not going to be the GOAT
And saying if he had Froch's conditioning would make him unstoppable i agree, but you could say if tyson had hopkins work ethic he would be unstoppable.

Canelos defense isnt good. He had good head movement against a slow puncher. Kermit cintron was landing his shots fairly easy on canelo and cintron looked horible in that fight. Canelos body movement isnt good either. Throw in his gas tank that runs out fast and you got a young kid with alot that needs to be addressed.
Let's not get carried away here and pretend Trout didn't beat beat him.
hes only 22 and hes beating guys like Austin trout im sorry but most 22's are fed tomato cans and are only on the 2/3rd fight. Hes on how many fights??? Hes done his first 12 rounds at age 17..
This is pure ring IQ.
plus I said potentially. People are so seething.I think I see a very good fighter. I have made money betting on him almost every time he fights since I first saw him fight Catto's older brother. Canelo, with his glass jaw, terrible footwork, and awful stamina just keeps right on winning. If he is as poor a fighter as some are saying then Mayweather should beat him easily. So I would have been wrong about how good Canelo is. Bad for him but I'll just get another favorite fighter. I already have three good ones I really like. Matthysse, GGG. and Thurman. I like to shock people by saying I think Canelo will beat Floyd. I have been saying it for years. Some of the pros think Canelo has a decent chance to win. The Vegas odds for this fight are much closer than any fight Mayweather has had since he fought Oscar. Mayweather is a 2.5 to 1 favorite, not the usual 6 or 7 to 1 favorite he has been in all his fights for years.

WTF. Canelo looked stiff with his head movement. I'd like to see him try to do that against Floyd without pivoting sideways.

I guess Trout got carried away because he said Canelo deserved to win the fight.
So instead you would want Trout acting like Donaire? Acting like a sore loser and making excuses? Or maybe Rios? Trout acted how a loser should act, took it like a man and moved on with it.

What a suck troll thread. This is the best you could do? Honestly?
You have a few different views here... those of us who enjoy Floyd's style and watching his fights will likely say he's better than he(Canelo) is. I'm not going to be biased I think Canelo is a solid B fighter, and could get to a B+, but you CAN NOT tire in a fight against someone like Floyd or any other solid 154 lb fighter who is considered a top guy or you will get eaten up. What makes this match-up more intriging is the simple fact that Canelo is so much bigger than Floyd on fight night and in general. Cotto was much bigger than Floyd, so people assume based off of that that Floyd will struggle against him. Is it possible? Sure, anything in this sport is possible. Let's also not forget that Floyd was supposedly sick when he fought Cotto, also everyone (including myself) said his legs looked shot. However, when he came out against Guerrero, he was quite mobile and did a superb job as he always has done.
Anyone who is a manny fan, or just hates Floyd is going to say right now that he's not that good so in the case that Floyd were to lose they can say he lost against someone who isn't that good. Everyone here has an agenda. If people could manage to put their bias aside for 1 second would see the fight as it is. Canelo is a good 154 lber... he's not great. His age has little to do with it IMO, it's more about his experience and he has plenty of fights now, so if he were going to be "great" and a "p4p #1" we'd see it already, but at 42 or so fights already... if it's not there not, it's not gonna be there IMO.
Like I said, the match is interesting because Canelo has skill and he has size. This match will show more of what Floyd can do, rather than Canelo can. Floyd loses ... so what? He's 40+ million richer and he's 36 years old... Canelo loses and depending on how, it will show all of his weaknesses for future opponents and then expect to see more losses from him sooner rather than later.
Man, I though I was sipping the Canelo flavored koolaid....
He's a young, entertaining fighter that will only get better but best ever?
Not a chance, though he will become one of the most revered mexican fighters ever.
If he beats Mayweather he is on his way. Mayweather is 36 but still about 95% as good as he ever was. I bet money on Canelo to win. That would be a great win for a fighter that just turned 23. Canelo is just as dedicated and determined to improve his boxing skills as Floyd was and still is. Canelo will be working very hard to improve any weakness he has. He is tough, fearless and smart. He is very cool under pressure and can make ajustments during a fight just like Mayweather. I think his hard, fast, accurate combinations to the head and body will win it for him. Nobody has ever really pounded away on Floyd's body much. I think Canelo will hurt Mayweather with body punches.
i dont have a problem with his opinion. but its a fringe opinion. canelo is a long long long way from being great. not that he couldnt be, but its definitely a long shot cosidering what he has done so far. he has age on his side. but unless he improves drastically within the next 5 years, he doesnt have a shot.
