Beating Trout is greater than anything any of Floyd's last what 5 opponents have done. Plus he's a bigger star than anyone since Hatton. (Who I thought lost to Collazo) before he fought Floyd anyway. Really??? When Shane stopped Margarito, it was seen as a big big big win at the time, and got Shane high up the P4P list. But aside from that one, I completely agree.

Both were right. Now, people, including Alvarez's own promoter, are saying the same thing about Alvarez. Mayweather fought his first A-level fighter in his 21st professional fight. Alvarez has been a world champion for three years and has over 40 professional fights, but just fought his first A-level fighter in his last fight. He may have as many fights as Floyd and more KO's, but that doesn't mean he is in the same class as Mayweather. He could probably compete with every other fighter between 147 and 154, but in a fight against Mayweather, he would be schooled the same way as Marquez and Guerrerro were and the fight would likely be stopped if Mayweather doesn't hurt his hand.

When every organization that rates fighters has you rated as the best in the world you damn sure have earned the right to fight any fighter your weight.

The judges gave him the fight, he didn't look spectacular and the kid is not elite at all, Floyd will give him a schooling even with the weight advantage How did the judges give Alavarez that fight? The scores were a little wide, but do you honestly believe Trout won? Defensively Canelo looked like f*cking Pernell Whitaker(exaggeration, obviously) against Trout. He neutralized Trout's main weapon (jab) and landed the harder punches the entire fight. Even knocked him down with a straight right. Trout was just more active....But he wasn't very effective. Trout would've won that fight if professional boxing was judged like amateur boxing, I'll give you that.

Apparently Cotto was plenty good enough to get a fight with Floyd and Canelo beat Trout who beat Cotto by the same one sided point scores that Mayweather beat Cotto. If Cotto is good enough for a Floyd fight and Canelo beat the guy that just beat Cotto than Canelo is good enough to fight Floyd. Do you really believe Floyd won't fight Canelo because Canelo has not earned a Mayweather fight? I think the reason Floyd won't fight Canelo is because Canelo is too big, too young and hits too hard.
