Notable fighters in the past have tried their hand in the music industry, some trying to rap (Roy Jones, Floyd Mayweather), some singing (Manny Pacquiao) and some trying to melt the ladies hearts (Oscar De La Hoya) who is the best you've heard though??? I was a big fan of Roy Jones and his groups music i thought they had some good stuff, Am digging Adrien Broners music aswell.
Not one of the above "musicians" know anything at all about music. Just imagine...calling "rap" music, when it is in fact the product of a feverish mind and tongue. And there's no music as such about it. Oscar and MannyP have sung a few ballad type songs, for which you only need to know the words and keep fairly close to the tune. Oh yes, and roll your eyes and look soulful at certain phrases. As musicians they are a pair of crappers, and would starve if they had to depend on it.
The best REAL boxer-musician was actually a musician-boxer named Tokunbo Olijade from Vancouver. He supported himself as a musician (a REAL musician) whilst becoming a leading 154 lb contender. He decided he liked music better and retired, going to new York where he is a well known figure in music circles. He plays the trumpet and flugel-horn, and, although I dislike pop jazz intensely, he's damned good at it.
LIL Wayne ain't music
Hey,don't be like that. Lil Wayne gave us some great songs before all this young money hoopla. But these days, it seems he can't write a song to save his life. But when measuring someone, I think it's better to take into account their whole productivity.
Very few rappers or even artists in general have made 10 or more solo studio albums. Lil Wayne is one of them.
Rjj and joe frazier are the only fighters whos music appealed to me. Most fighters who tried their luck in music were terrible, broner and pacquiao in particular. Broner gives brian pumper a run for his money for worst rapper ever and i dont think pacquiao hit a note right in his life.
