Why does anyone care about this matchup when the overwhelming majority of posters believe Mathysse steam rolls garcia and ko's him early ? If garcia is truly a bum and only has one good win on his resume by way of lucky ko and his other noticeable wins are against washed up ancient fighters. What does a win over garcia do for Mathysse legacy wise ? I understand it wraps things up at 140 blah blah blah. But if Mathysse beats him in the fashion 90% of the posters on this site feel he will ... Are we going to still call garcia a bum ? Or do the revisionists put garcia on a pedestal ? it makes him he lineal champ and the best at 140. might elevate him into the top 10 p4p. it also gives him the best win on his resume to date.

The fight will be a big event for boxing, that's enough reason to make it happen. Right now Mattysse has this aura of knockout invincibility, which may or may not be exaggerated. Him fighting Danny Garcia will give us a lot of answers regarding that. Yes Garcia will be the underdog (story of his career), but once the fight approaches you'll see he has a lot more supporters. There's a lot of unknown about this fight because both pack a huge punch which is why it makes it very intriguing. if he beats garcia i will consider him to have completely cleaned out 140, and i mean picked the bones clean. judah, alexander, peterson, and garcia? all that's missing is khan and bradley, and that's a mini epoch at 140 right there after that it's on to 147. on to the next one, on on to the next one. i'm on this boy's bandwagon. toot toot

The better question is, How will Garcia be seen if he wins against all odds? He continues to win even when "fans of boxing call him a bum". Where will a win put Garcia" I think he has better odds that most around here think! oh, they'll figure out a way to discredit him for sure. i wouldn't expect anti garcia mathysse fans to become a fan of his en masse if he were to win. it's how it should be but nah.

Is the OP even a boxing fan at all? How about the fact that it would be an entertaining fight that would most likely end in a knockout. 140 is one of, if not the, most loaded divisions so having two guys decide who is the best would be a big time fight. Damn, Mayweather has really ruined a lot of boxing fans. Now just because people feel one guy will win then it makes no sense to even make the fight..... I guess the Miami Heat shouldn't have to play the rest of the playoffs as well. Everyone knows they will win so why doesn't everyone just go home and hand them the trophy. Who cares if the playoff series will be entertaining to those that love basketball, the Heat winning is inevitable and Lucas beating Garcia is as well. Nothing else to see here folks. Just go home.

Regardless of what a hand full of people think on a damn boxing forum...THEY STILL MUST FIGHT, anything can happen once they get into the ring, Danny has a lot of Power himself so he could catch Matthysse and hurt him as well, neither is overly fast and neither is all that elusive so both with have their opportunity to land with their power

Garcia Stans ? Lol their might be 2 or 3 posters on here who openly support garcia and even then they are at least realistic in his abilities and his chances against Mathysse. I agree with the TS. He's better off fighting Berto at 147 then if he wins Floyd has to fight him next. It's the law.
