Fury would say this because he is of traveller stock. But boxing is a sport. That fight was over as a contest. It might have been worth letting it go on if Purdy had some snap on his punches but he didn't.

Barker warned Purdy for several rounds that if he doesn't improve, he'll take him out. Purdy had his chance and never stepped it up. All he did was showboat while getting hit on the face.

I don't see how there can be any question about what Barker did. Purdy was clearly outclassed. He didn't win a round, didn't look like winning a round, didn't hurt Alexander and was getting his ass handed to him. Why take unnecessary punishment? Fury is just a disrespectful cunt bucket who thinks his opinion matters.

I agree Barker was wrong to pull him out but the Martinez comment was a bit off base.Wasn't Barker rendered unconcious? Why was he wrong? For stopping a fight that his fighter lost every round to against a guy only using one hand... Purdy was getting a drubbing by somebody who isn't even considered a power puncher, and he couldn't even hurt Alexander with his own shots.

Fury is right, let the man go out on his terms.
