Eddie Hearn tweeted this:
@EddieHearn: It will be a huge night of boxing..first two fights confirmed are @SpecialKBrook v @Carson_Jones1 and @TommyCoyle89 v @derrymathews23
Looks like the date will be July 13th. I actually don't mind this fight. First fight was close.
I never suggested he fight one of the 3 straight off from injury and personally no I don't think he beats either berto,Guerrero or Ortiz but would like to see how he gets on with them.kell is not a kid anymore He's 27 years old time to fight the big dogs at 147.......spencer fearon said on the t2t podcast that he heard kell was not living right around Sheffield
Hmm. I was hoping for a better opponent, but the first fight was entertaining and thats probably this fights only selling point. I would've preffered someone like Bailey or Jones get the fight but I'm not sure if they has a fight coming up.
Oh and Craven park is fkn 5hithole!
I remember being ridiculed by our Brit NSB brothers for picking Carson to beat Brook the first go around. Dude is a rough SOB. But this time I think Kell solves the riddle and wins easy.
Nothing.
It's just to prove how much he's improved since hiring a strength & conditioning coach.
But wouldn't he show that better over 12 rounds since it was late in the last fight where he had problems?
Maybe it will be a 12 rounder, but Hearn was talking 10 in his interview. Another win in a shorter bout proves very little imo.
Brook crushes him this time.
He was schooling him in the first fight before he ran out of gas, that problem will be taken care of. Brook boxes his ears off and stops him in the mid-to-late rounds.
Schooling him?
I don't think so...
Surely to school someone you'd also have to take into the fact that a fight can last 12 rounds and spending all your gas on the first half of the fight leaving yourself gassed for the later rounds doesn't sound like something a fighter who has "schooled" someone would do, very amateurish If I'm to be honest.
Give Amir Khan one thing his conditioning is absolute top notch Kell Brook has always had question marks over that.
Carson Jones has something to prove to Kell he got a unfair decision against him last time and I'm sure he will start off quicker and look to hurt Kell Brook even more than last time.
When he fights Jones in July it will have been 9 months since he was last in the ring for fuck sake. Had it not been for the injuries in the Alexander build-up, we'd have been looking at Brook with a completely different point of view.
I would have preferred to see him fight another opponent. Assuming it's a 10 rounder, what does he learn by beating Jones again?
If he does manage to beat Jones in July he better ask his promoter to set up a match with one of the best fighters at 147
His promoter was intending to set a fight up against the mighty Julio Diaz.
These 2 will milk the British public for as long as it takes. Kell's 0 has to be preserved so he can continue filling the Sheffield Arena.
Gotta agree with this. I was interested to see what Brook would do against a top level fighter in Alexander but every single postponement of their fight looked dodgy to me, I dont think Brook fancied it and i think Alexander thought he could maybe get the Mayweather fight (thank fcuk he didnt!). But yeah I don't expect to see Brook in with a live opponent any time soon and have little interest in even watching Brook-Jones II.
I hope Brook doesn't get injured again, he needs to get back in the ring this time. Ring rust can be a *****. Hope Carson Brutally knocks him out but i can see Brook gets an easy points win this time.
Why does Brook have to fight one of the best at 147?
If he was holding a belt hostage like Nathan Cleverly is doing @ 175, fair enough. But Brook is not relevant, why do people worry about fighters who are not relevant.
A fight with Alexander is the only route they want to take, it'll happen I'm sure of it. I just hope they've reached some sort of agreement that after Alexander deals with Purdy and Brook with Jones, that they'll get it on in Nov/Dec.
Hopefully, but I have been hearing that Khan may be facing Alexander at 147 some time around December.

Show me one name on Rigondeaux's resume prior to Donaire that could suggest he'd be able to beat him. Look what happened.
What stupid logic.
He didn't go life & death with Jones, he outboxed him and tired out in the latter part of the fight. He didn't even have a strength & conditioning coach ffs. He faced adversity, beat it whilst running on fumes against a very game, aggressive, tough fighter in Carson Jones.
I don't rate Brook that highly but get your head out of your arse.
Oh sh1t Lmao. I just posted the same thing WTF... that sh1t was weird.

Looking at Rigo's resume before Donaire who did he fight that made you think he could hang with Donaire?
You don't judge a fighter by resume alone. Berto, Ortiz and Guerrero aren't anything special.
We will see in the rematch if the nose was a factor or not. Brook was put thru adversity and made it. He needed that.

Brook has credible names on his resume for the position he's in at this point in his career. He was due to fight Devon Alexander for a world title, not once but twice. He's spent the best part of the end of last year and the start of this training for the fight, only for injuries to postpone it.
He'll be fighting for the first time this year in July, 5 months before the end of the year so there should be enough time to get the Alexander fight done.
If he does manage to beat Jones in July he better ask his promoter to set up a match with one of the best fighters at 147

I've got nothing against Kell Brook as a fighter, all I'm asking for is for him to step up the competition and to have some credible names on his resume.
A 10 rounder against an opponent he gassed over 12 against?
This just isn't impressive, particularly hot on the heels of pulling out 2 world title fights.

To be fair, Berto isn't up to much, Brook would have a good chance of beating him. Guerrero and Ortiz would be deserved favorites.

Who has either three beaten that is better than Kell Brook?
