Also said "Once he beats Canelo, whats left?". He's obviously talking about a fight that's gonna generate that kind of interest, at least that's the impression I got.
F, this guys is related to the Mayweathers?
One of the points he made is that after Canelo there's no one left. So, the fight seems like it would happen, but later. Jeff indicates that Floyd doesn't want to go 147, 154, 147, because he's not going to stay at 154. Jumping up and down is not a good move, and Floyd knows it. This is Canelo makes sense as his last fight.
And yet, it has to be at 154 if its the last fight. Given that there is no one after Canelo, Jeff just admitted that there are not 5 other credible fights. If Floyd waits, Canelo may just become bigger in star power and size.
For his legacy, Floyd cannot afford to be seen as the guy that ducked Pacquio and now Canelo. If I'm Floyd I take the fight now; otherwise its 5 uneven fights that will diminish his star power, and it already started with Guerrero.
Bit of a pickle, but is riskier to wait.
ignore that last post...not sure what happened. i tried to edit in the video and then i copied mathed's quote? and now i can't even edit that out...quite odd....I'll wait it out...
Most of us agree, he just needs to convince his nephew. If the PPVs keep bombing, he can probably borrow a few goons from Haymon, if it'll help convincing

Like I was saying, if Floyd and Canelo do fight, it'll either be his last fight or the 2nd to last; Jeff all but confirms it here
Jeff Mayweather says his nephew will beat Canelo at age 38. What a surprise. Jeff is hardly neutral on this fight. I wonder who Canelo's uncle thinks would win this fight. The whole Mayweather clan says Floyd can beat Canelo and it would be easy work. However, Floyd Jr. does not seem to think a fight with Canelo would be such an easy fight. He told Canelo's people that Canelo must fight him at welterweight or no fight. What the hell happened to the speech he made before he fought Cotto about fighting guys at the weight they are comfortable at? I guess that applied only to chubby, little Cotto and not big bad Canelo.
It's too risky to wait around. Canelo will only get better and better every year. It's best to make the fight now rather than later. I don't want this fight to be like a "passing the torch" type of fight when/if it happens.
i dont think the "getting better" is a problem...the real problem is "getting heavier"...for how long he can make 154 healthy?

Canelo will soon be outgrowing 154, so this talk about him getting any better is something I can't really agree with. I spoke about this with another poster on here and he brought up the fact that Canelo seems real hasty in trying to secure the Mayweather fight, look at the whole Canelo-Trout under card situation. Canelo also showed quite a bit of stamina issues that may be attributed to cutting down, or maybe it's that he punches with too much conviction, whatever the case may be it's worth noting.
