So who is this guy? I know he is a former lightweight and light welterweight champ and coming off a loss but besides the obvious who is this guy?
Is this a credible fighter to fight Manny? Where does Rios even rank? Is he a good opponent? Does he have a shot at beating Manny?
What does it mean for Manny if he wins? What's next for him if he wins? Does that mean he is back because he beat Rios?
What does it mean if Rios wins?

Fairly easy fight (on paper) against a young well know mexican fighter. Set up because the mexican fans buy ppv in large numbers. Rios was also picked so paq can look good and trick the Philippino fans into believing hes still relevant. . .
Do you remember Tyson vs McNeeley? Well, Rios is McNeeley's dumbass, made to order to make Pac look good. Rios will probably charge into Pac like McNeeley charged into Tyson. lol
I clearly member this. McNeely was wondering why that old lady did a hit and run and didn't stop her car to check if he was alright.

Thats an absolutely dreadful comparison. Peter friggin McNeely??? :lol1:
Yeah this tune up talk is a little over the top IMO. Yes, Rios may be made to order for Pac, but then again Pac just got brutally KTFO. And Rios is a puncher. He's also 31-1-1. He's not some C fighter scrub that is a lamb to slaughter. He'll come to fight and if he finds a way to hurt Manny then the entire game changes.
While I agree -- Manny will never go back to being a HBO After Dark fighter. The day Arum says it's not a PPV fight is the day Manny hangs it up. Plus, there's still good money to be made in this one. People will wanna see how Pac's chin holds up...has that JMM KO shattered it? Will it happen again? Or will Manny have a sort of a rebirth and clown the f**k out of Brandon? Rios may be somewhat made to order (we'll see), he's still far from a scrub fighter and if MP looks spectacular then it could potentially open up some nice PPV options in the future for HBO & him.
the only good thing about pac is the ko loss won't affect him psychologically.
a lot of fighters, it affects them.
pac has been koed before and he was fine. the guy is mentally tough.
now physically.... that's a different story. we'll have to see.

I know who Rios is, but who is this Pacquiao character?
This fight shouldn't be PPV. Respect to Manny but How many PPVs have happened with the main event both coming off losses?

He is nothing but a walking punching bag. Tune up fight for PAC.
He's the handpicked heir apparent to Juan Manuel Marquez. Buy the fight, Pac's going to get knocked out by a counter right hand again.
"heir apparent to Juan Manuel Marquez" you can't compare Rios to JMM. Rios is a basic brawler. Rios is nowhere near JMM level.
He was undefeated and more than a few posters were claiming things like "Aydin is going to punch his head off" and stuff like that. Guerrero just ruined him, that's all.
:lol1: He sucked to begin with. You must know he robbed that featherfisted LWW Jojo Dan in his hometown? He was always a reach challenged midget also, that hasn't changed
Manny Has Everything to Lose

It would depend on how Manny wins. Manny may want to find a different line of work if he suffers another defeat. It would be a shame for him to wind of being used as a name on a young and up and coming fighter's resume. If Rios wins, the sky is the limit. If he loses, he still wins because this will be the biggest payday of his career.
Come on man, don't be bigging up Aydin, he sucks. Use Berto at least

You're right. But casuals don't care that much, they like fireworks and they gonna get that. And there's the whole Macau thing, it's very clever. You might even get to catch Shiming make 750k for his 3rd 4 rounder.
You mean the guy that handed Aydin his first career loss after jumping 2 weight divisions, taking nearly a year off and going through shoulder surgery? The same guy that then handed Berto his second loss?
The Ghost earned his shot, no one fabricated anything.

He is a live fighter in the weightclass unlike guerrero made up to be somebody qualified as a star in the division.

because Manny Pacquiao small Rios Big lightweight will probably weight 30 pounds more then Pacquiao fight night
and also because Pacquiao was KTFO and just woke up #warrior
If you dont know much about Rios, chances are you really arent that much of a boxing fan.
