Broner is my favorite fighter to watch right. He has a fun personality and finishes his fights in brutal fashion.
Do you think he should be rank in the pound for pound list?if not would you if he finishes Paulie Malignaggi?
I have him at nr.6 p4p:boxing:
The thing about p4p list especially now is that after you get past floyd and ward. its highly debatable.
Of course jmm, rigo should be on every list. I took off serg and doniare completely, i left manny on the list bc he got beat by a top 5 guy where serg and donaire were in against guys who werent
Where do you put tim bradley, especially considering he beat undefeated peterson, abregu, and alexander in 3 straight fights
What about mares, three division champ
Froch has fought murderers row
Klitchkos are dominate
Broner has all the potential in the world
Gamboa is just like broner, hugely talented but not tested yet
Canelo
trout
hopkins
Garcia
Garcia
Lucas
GGG
There are so many guys you can make cases for p4p list.
The only locks that should be on efveryone's list are
Floyd, Rigo, Ward, JMM, Bradley, MAnny. Everyone else is highly debatable
Pound for pound is just a matter of opinion. I think Broner will be on my pfp. list someday but he is not there yet. Too many other fighters have done so much more than him and proven themselves more than he has. If he looks impressive against Paulie that won't get him on my list either. Khan easily beat Paulie and he is not on my list of top 10 pfp or even close. If he KOed Paulie and then looked good beating Guerrero, Thurman or Alexander then I would give him the #10 spot on my pfp. list. The fact that beating Paulie would make him a champion in three weight class does mean anything to me. It's pound for pound. That means when a fighter moves up to a heavier weight they have to prove all over again how good they are at the new higher weight.
I have him on y p4p list now at #8. Can totally see if others leave him off. Doesnt have much of a track record but his performance vs demarco was sensational.
i dont think broner has floyd/royjones/hopkins type skills. I think he is more like James Toney-Alittle flat footed and pressure guys will bring out the best in him. Moving boxers with elite skills will cause broner problems. Just like Roy caused Toney problems
The second half of this is dead on in my opinion.
The kid is skilled. How skilled is the question. He had two fights that many believe could have gone either way, and he hasn't really fought anyone yet. I could see him improve to a p4p fighter, but he hasn't proven it yet.
