I've been slacking on the new boxers coming out. Who is the best of the new breed? Is there any potential Roy Jones's or Mayweather in the new crop? I had to edit this post I wasn't clear (sorry) I mean new fighters maybe not getting a lot of mainstream attention. Maybe the kids coming out the olympics or a 4-8 round fighter looking phenomenal
Felix Verdejo.
Dang! This kids exciting. I ended up looking him up to watch one fight and found myself watching 3 of his fights. Be interesting to see if he can keep it up against better opposition
Omar Figueroa
Leo Santa Cruz
I checked out Omar vs Perez based on names tossed out in this thread. Was impressed with that fight. I haven't checked out Santa Cruz yet. I don't know if I was spoiled by watching Roy Jones, Hoya, Mosley, leanord...just to name a few, but the mix of speed, power, and technique in their early bouts was just jaw dropping

Gallito Estrada should also be mentioned.
He a unified champion already, otherwise he would definitely be worth a mention.
Bahodir Mamadjonov
Jorge Silva
Julio Ceja
Robert Marroquin
Levan Ghvamichava
Sergey Kovalev
Willie Nelson
All these guys have impressed me with the level of opposition they have faced at this point of their careers'.
Can't believe Keith Thurman was only mentioned once in here.
He's been shaking things up lately. Has what looks like a killer fight coming up in June or July. Keith Thurman 20(18)-0 vs Diego Chavez 22(18)-0.
Demetrius Andrade!
Great test coming up for him against Zaurbek Baysangurov in the Ukraine! He wins and brings home the WBO Title then he has to be considered Top 5 at 154
Frankie Gomez, Hugo Centeno Jr., Terence Crawford, Daquan Arnett
Omar Figueroa!
Reminds me of a young Oscar De La Hoya with more Power, but kinda have the same Demeanor of Oscar, humble well spoken dude to go with a very exciting style and the backing of Al Haymon...Omar Figueroa is going to be a STAR if he continues to improve in the ring, just need to tighten up that Defense a bit but Offensively he is very explosive
I got something new out of this thread great. Had NO clue Boo Boo was going to go through with this. Wow that is a gamble but he can get it done. Definitely someone that is ready to run the sport.
marcus browne, USA olympian, didn't make it past the first round but has looked good in his pro fights, think he is 4-0 maybe 5-0. i like errol spence jr too another olympian
Demetrius Andrade, he is a physical nightmare for anyone at 154 and probably 160 and I think he has a good mindset.
He should pound the Ukrainian coming up.
If he continues to polish up I struggle to imagine how Canelo or any of these Jr MWs/ MWs deal with him.
Anthony Ogogo - Olympic bronze at middleweight, won by big KO in his first fight. Seems to have carried power into the pros. He has star quality but don't see anything majorly special yet in terms of ability. Golden Boy have signed him though, and that is quite unusual for a UK fighter so early in their career, so they obviously see something.
