I gave RG round 1 and on the rewatch, I contemplated whether he won that one too. The reason Guerrero was competitive in some rounds was more so because Floyd took his foot off the gas then anything RG was doing to him.
i gave RG rounds 1 and 2, and.... well thats about it. it was the epitome of a boxing clinic :boxing:
round 12 belonged to RG as well since floyd was just runnin around lol
totally agree with you. I think there can be a case made for Guerrero to have edged rounds 1, 2, 7, 9 and 12. And round 6 was also close.
The real story of the fight though is that Mayweather won the fight, but Guerrero looked good too, not in all rounds, but in (quite) a few rounds.
Guerrero gave Mayweather a better fight than 90 % of his earlier opponents.
Soooooooooo...you're arguing the plausibility of a draw...? You can't be serious.

To be honest, I don't think Guerrero gave him a great fight. The rounds I felt he may have edged were based more on Mayweather being inactive than Guerrero doing anything impressive, he just couldn't land anything cleanly and, even in the closer rounds, was getting tagged by clean right hands.
RG only got rd. 1 and maybe 12... thats as generous as you can be with him. Mayweather was an ATG fighting a guy who definitely wont even make the HOF. Totally not his fault that hes that much better than his peers.
I think I gave Robert rounds 7, 9 and 12, but only because Mayweather took his foot off the gas in those rounds. Even so, Floyd still landed the cleaner shots so those rounds could, in theory, be given to him as well.
Round 2 was another round I thought could edge Roberts way, but I felt Mayweather, again, was landing the cleaner shots.
I agree, i was surprised when i read so many had Guerrero winning rounds 1 and/or 2. Opening rounds are rarely completely dominant but i just thought Mayweather was taking control of the pace and the rhythm of the fight, and was landing the cleaner shots.
i rarely, if ever, score live fights. i watch them to be entertained.
still, i remember guerrero doing better in the first. he landed a couple of big shots with his free hand, and floyd did very little. i've only seen the fight once at this point, though.
after that, floyd had a hard time missing with his right hand. guerrero showed a hell of a chin and horrible defense.
I think I gave Guerrero round 7. There were a few competitive rounds so I score card of 117-111 is fair but at the same time I wouldn't argue against a score card that read 120-108. Guerrero was outclassed.
Mayweather landed all the clean punches in every single round. I don't think there's even one round that was Guerrero's, with no debate. Even when Mayweather ran in the 12th, he landed better punches.
Its really irrelevant. 117-111 or 118-110 is pretty much the same thing. Great win for floyd.
Depending on where you rank Tim-the 2nd and 3rd best ww in the world right now won a combined3- 4 rounds against floyd.
i give guerrero the 2nd round based on the pressure he was applying and the fact mayweather didn't hardly start throwing the jab until about the last 1min of the round
