It would be a mismatch and everyone will say after the fight that Canelo didn't have the experience.
nothing was wrong with his hands just that in round 8 he realized if he kept throwing that punch guerrero was gonna put him on his ass.
you're dumb

This, Floyd won't get credit no matter who he fights. If he went all the way to 160 and fought and beat Martinez, they would say he had gotten old and didn't look good in his last fight. If he fights Lucas or anyone at 140 lbs, they would be to small. lol it's actually funny the way people act about who he fights. I admit myself that above 140 his resume is a bit lackluster, but IMO Hatton was solid and was undefeated, Cotto at 154 gave him a real test and was a weight manny wasn't willing to go to. He just beat a very solid opponent... then people say he's only had 2 fights at WW, but he had just beaten the hell out of Berto who's been at WW for a very long time. Guerrero was also his mandatory and ranked #3 in the division was he not?
I don't think it'll be Canelo, and I also don't think Canelo will be fighting Cotto, at least I hope not.
I could see Floyd fighting the Peterson/Lucas winner, while Canelo fights the Angulo/Lara winners. And Cotto fights the Ishe/Molina winner in October or November.
Lucas Matthysse is one of my favorite current fighters but let's be real, no flat-footed slow-punching guy is going to give Floyd a fight. If Floyd can see the punches coming, you have no chance other than a "punchers chance".
Good thing his hand is alright. I was thinking that might lead to him postponing the Sept. date to a later time. At this point, I don't care who he fights. No one out there, I believe, can give him a good fight.
Props to Floyd if he takes on Canelo in September. Would be his toughest test in many years. Ginger is inexpierenced, but he poses some physical threats that Floyd hasn't seen in a long time.
Just don't see it happening though. Not now or ever. Floyd has his guarantee from Showtime, he can fight all the 140 pounders and he wants and he still gets paid.

Been saying since the day he announced he has booked May 4th and September 14th that it will be Guerrero followed by Canelo.
Why else would be book dates so close?
To get the most of the Mexican holidays against Mexican fighters.
If he didn't intend on fighting Canelo in September he would have booked a November or December date.
I'd be very surprised if Canelo wasn't next.
Does he still have his 154 belt?
GB should Let Danny fight Lucas or Lamont and the winner gets a shot at Floyd in May 2014. Then Floyd can fight Canelo in Sept assuming he's still unbeaten. I think that's how it should go but who does Floyd fight in Sept of this year??? Khan??? Alexander??? Idk man.
We'll see if he fights Canelo... Alexander is off the table, so is Khan.
That leaves Garcia and Peterson/Matthysse.
Berto is gross...I'm leaving that mofo out
Broner is too far left field because he doesn't want daddy to beat him
One of the best lines I've read on this forum. :lol1:
