I had May in a shutout 120-108. The Ghost looked slow and in a different league then Mayweather and he had his way with Berto and beat him up to where he looked like an alien. And just think Berto has made millions in this sport.
It doesn't say anything about Berto because you can't compare him or anyone else to Floyd. Floyd is a master boxer who has perfected his craft. He looks even better with his dad back. Berto needs to find a trainer to teach him how to use his abilities. He doesn't have a style. He simply depends on his power and speed. But he still is a dangerous fighter. Its not like Ortiz just ran over him, it was a competitive fight. He came in fighting Guerrero with a new style that he had no business using and got hurt early because of it. But, he is far from being a bum. He needs to stay in the gym and learn from a better trainer.
My Thoughts
It just confirms what we already knew.
Berto is massively overpaid and overrated.
It also shows that Berto needs to work on his defense big time. He even tried to copy Floyd's style while facing the Ghost and he got the beat down of his life.
Those are my thoughts exactly. He started believing his press clippings. It also shows that he was fighting C class fighters until he met the Ghost. I see the Ghost as a B fighter who got taught a lesson by an A fighter.
This is what I said before the fight:
Berto is simply a hype job, period. Nothing like that will happen. Floyd picked this fight for a reason.
This is boxing. Everyone comes up with opinions. That's why everyone is here.
Guerrero became mildly popular because he turned Berto into Chinese. Prior to that he was in a very competitive fight against Aydin and won him a UD. That's all you need to know. Do Berto and Aydin have the same skillset as Floyd? Think hard about that for a moment. If you say yes, then where the hell are Berto and Aydin now?
If you say yes again then Guerrero would win this fight. Of course, triangle theories don't make sense in boxing. Styles make fights. But what possible other factors do you think would make this fight competitive or not?
Pressure is on Guerrero. Fans will always have this picture of him manhandling Berto who made the Ghost look like a beast. Berto is one of the laziest boxers I've ever seen in the ring. The hypejob would rather clinch than move his feet.
This is all Berto's fault. One of the laziest boxers you've ever seen made Guerrero looked like a beast. Berto clinches, he holds, but he won't effing move his feet. He'd rather get mauled and abused. He did the same routine the entire fight.
After the fight:
Fight last night just proves beyond doubt how overrated Berto was when he was undefeated. Some clowns even have the nerve to say he's being ducked by these big stars. You beat Berto, he will make you look like a beast. It doesn't mean crap.
Nothing we didn't all know already. If you can take Berto's punch and survive you have a hell of a chance beating him cause his defence is shyt. This guy stands right in front you and take flush punch after punch without any kind of adjustments.
Floyd did the same thing to Marquez. Losing a wide decision to Floyd does not always discredit a fighter. Guerrero is still good. Berto is a little bit worse.
Its says what just about everybody has been saying all along, that he sucks. Berto is the definition of a hypejob. I've never seen fighters get so much credit for beating a fighter, who has done nothing, like Robert and Ortiz did.
