Jay Nady's stoppage was a big Bozo No No

He was eating a lot of flush shots, but still he was throwing back and making an effort. I don't think it would've changed the winner of the fight at all, but still the stoppage happened and whole house was like wait wtf? Yeah, that sht had everybody pissed. Mares was on his way to stopping Ponce but still.

it was not a good stoppage, I think we all can agree on that. Either way, no way was Ponce coming back in that fight. Make a awesome Roy Jones sig for me and i'll make it worth your while with points....lots and lots of points. And maybe some Greenage of the Kay also known as Green K.

It was bad stoppage. Nady should've let Ponce take a few more shots before calling it off. Ponce was the champ so he deserved some extra time to recover. Plus, he is a tough fighter and I've never seen him give up. With that being said, we were robbed of a highlight reel/KO of the year nominee. Mares dropped 4 or 5 right hand bombs on his chin and Ponce did nothing to evade them. I wouldn't let the stoppage mar Mares' excellent performance.

Have to disagree with the majority here...don't mean to be contrary for its own sake :boxing: but what I saw was about four unanswered shots rocking Ponce. Am I remembering the stoppage wrong? I mean does someone remember something different? Keep in mind that Ponce did throw one shot but it was thrown as Nadie declared the fight stopped....just a split second before. Honestly it was so poor. Watch again man i guarentee u will feel different, his eyes were focused his hands were up and he fired two shots that had some meat on them as Nady boobed the call

TERRIBLE stoppage! Nady ruined a good fight yet again, guys a joke. Gotta feel bad for Ponce De Leon. Still my man Mares looked good at the weight :boxing:

Nady is famous for premature stoppages.

Didn't think it was as bad a stoppage as it was made out to be. Yes he had his eyes looking at Mares and was throwing arm punches back, but i counted at least 8 bombs that Abner landed on him whilst he was on the ropes. Acceptable stoppage IMO, could have let it go on longer but PDL was done for either way. Looking at it from a selfish point of view i'd have wanted the fight to go on longer but looking at it from a referees point of view i can understand the stoppage.
