Not against such an opponent with such limited footwork who couldn't cut off the ring at all, no.
Is there an off switch for Mayweather's legs that only a fighter with good footwork can get to?
His legs are fine. It has nothing to do with the level of opponent. They are swift, balanced, he can change directions ****ing quickly, his footwork is still impeccable. What more are you looking for?

I think he needs to keep his dad.. He looked great tonight. When he was throwing those rights to the body he really took guerreros heart.

ppl should not be surprised at those rights to the body. He destroyed Sharmba Mitchell with that, and he wore Judah and Corley down with the same shot.
are you serious? the guys legs looked better then ever. his legs looked like the marquez & hatton fight to be honest...........it's obvious he chose to fight that way to prove a point.
I agree, his footwork and speed (those right hands!) indeed looked like the Marquez fight, where he would hit em with a hard punch then immediately duck away from a counter-punch. Beautiful boxing...Mayweather's still got it.:boxing:
I think you have to factor in the opponents. Guerrero let him out of corner repeatedly and RG's own footwork isn't good, by contrast Cotto didn't give him room to breathe.
Anyone can move around the ring when they're not being pinned by their opponent.
Youand me have been going back and forth for a while, and I thought Ghost was going to do good. Ghost is a GREAT opponent, and no one at ww can beat dude. Floyd did what he did, because he's FLOYD. And You seemed almost unsure that Floyd would do this well. You probably thought Floyd would eek out a tough victory. NO one expected him to do what he did against such a good fighter. Ghost can box, brawl, make adjustments on the fly. Floyd just sucked him out of his gameplan. Had that boy following. Floyd was the reason that guy looked the way he looked. Ghost also has a STELLAR chin at ww. Floyd is punching 4 times harder than he used to. The way his head was snapping back, its like Floyd is a great puncher now. I think Broner has just enough power to hurt some ww's. Im not too sure about stopping them. BUT Floyd's power is just around that corner, and maybe even a little better, considering how well Ghost chin is, how big he is, and him being a good ww. I still have to see Broner hurt some bigger guys, but Floyd can punch hard as hell.
They arent what they were when he was in his 20s but they are way better than people thought they were and they are way better than most 36 year old fighters have.
I was thinking Guerrero showed a really good chin as he only stumbled a few times after taking all of those flush shots. I wonder how bad Mayweather's hand is. I know he aint no big puncher but I was surprised to not see Guerrero hurt more. Even cotto got wobbled more.
Of course he still has his legs... He hasn't taken any real damage to lose them. People need to understand that Floyd can fight in many ways and styles. He has changed his style of fighting around a lot throughout his career. People need to stop letting that Cotto fight fool you. He stood there to go head to head with Cotto. He could have used his legs to move if he wanted to. Floyd even admitted to this in the post fight interview.

Difference is, he had Floyd Sr in his corner. If he had Roger in his corner, he would have walked down Guerrero and fight with his back against the ropes as he did against Cotto and the fight would have looked better to fans who wants to see him gets hit consistently.
That's what I'm saying. Looks like Sr. Took his game up a notch.

He had us fooled with the way he fought Mosley and Cotto...lol
He went back to his old ways and used his legs...but even when he was flat footed he made Guerrero look amateurish...
Only Father Time will beat Floyd at this point...
^^^^^^^ This is the only way I see Floyd losing. When his reflexes finally betray him due to age.

no........he stood in front of cotto and obviously was going tic for tact with him (throwing a lot of punches)
in this fight he reverted to his old style. picking his shots and using his legs.
he was throwing combinations against cotto. in this fight he didn't throw one combination because he wasn't trying to war with robert. he completely reverted to his old style..............sr. got him back to his old style because sr. hated the way he fought against cotto.
Yep...his legs never went anywhere tbh still so strong, dedicated, intelligent, healthy at 36...this man is something else, dude was still moving fast in the 12th just like in the 1st..great performance, albeit against a slightly above average fighter but still great performance...
it's safe to say guerrero is slow as hell. this is the same guy that nearly lost to aydin and only beat berto by smothering him for 12 straight rounds. aka not the most skilled guy in the world to avoid.
obviously he still has them..........just hasn't been fighting in that style anymore but tonight he chose to revert back to that style.......
I agree. I think his Dad had a lot to do with his style. Floyd looks better in my opinion
