I bring this round up because I think most people gave it to Murray. It was the deciding round for me and I gave it to Murray in the first watch. I originally scored the fight 6-6 with the knockdown (or two) making the difference for Murray. I just rewatch it and I ended it up giving the round to Martinez. He actually landed the best two punches of the round IMO. There was one punch by Murray that looked like it rocked Martinez back and Roy Jones screamed "oh good right hand" and Lampley said "Hard right by Murray", which I think was the main reason I ended up giving the round to Murray. But I watched the Argentine broadcast where they showed the punch in slowmotion, and it shows Martinez mostly caught it on his glove.
Here are the notable punches I saw that landed through out the round.
(round timer, not video timer)
Murray 2:40 lands a jab
Murray 2:20 lands a jab
Murray 2:19 right hand lands on chest
Martinez 1:51 Great straight left. Best punch of the round IMO. Check highlight vid. 1st punch)
Murray 1:37 jab
Martinez 1:34 left hand (Second best punch IMO. Check highlight vid. 3rd punch)
Martinez 1:29 left hand
Murray: 1:33 jab
Martinez 1:18 right hook
Murray 1:11 This is the right hand Roy Jones exaggerates that was blocked (check highlight vid. 2nd punch)
Murray 0:45 Roy Jones said a body shot landed here. I'm not sure, but okay.
Murray 0:42 Jab touches Martinez
Martinez 0:37 jab splits through the guard
Murray 0:36 lands a much better counter jab
Martinez 0:20 Right hook
Martinez 0:12 Right hook
Murray 0:10 Body shot
Round 5
Round 5 highlights shown in the Argentine broadcast.
EDIT: Video was deleted
Watching it live I gave it to Martinez, but I remember feeling like I was being a bit generous to Sergio in doing so. Could just as easily have gone to Murray. Agree that it was one of the crucial rounds from a scoring perspective.
I gave round 5 to Murray but marked it as a close round. At the end I had Martinez winning by 1 point, and I didn't score the second "knockdown" because in my opinion it wasn't a knockdown. Martinez clearly ducked 2 punches and the second time he had to duck so low (to slip the punch) that he fell down. Wasn't the punch that made him fall down (cause it didn't even connect).
It was a close fight and the best I can see for Murray is a draw.
Which punches were the significant ones for Murray in this round? I don't think he landed a single power punch to the face.
The right hook Murray threw which turned Martinez's head, he also got Martinez early with a straight jab.
i was at the fight that night. I couldn't score it because it was raining a lot. I saw winning Murray that fight, maybe because i was disappointed of Sergio's performance. Also, Murray landed the harder shots and did hurt Martinez a few times. But then i rewatched and scored it and had Martinez 114 - 113. But it was a close fight, there were rounds that you could give to either fighter. I gave round five to Murray but i just watched again and it was close one. Argentine tv scored the fight in favour of Murray too.
If you count all the arm punches then Martinez clearly won that round, which was a reoccurring theme of the fight. If you counted all the significant punches then Murray won that round.

I agree overall he probably landed the bigger punches, but not in every round.
