When your looking to see whether or not a fight is a complete mismatch, don't just look at their records and their opponents, look at the margin that they're beating their opponents by.
Case in point:
Only nine months ago, Guerrero faced Selcuk "The Turkish Warrior" Aydin, and although he won a UD he still lost 4 out of the 12 rounds. Aydin isn't even a top 20 welterweight, probably not a top 30, and that's the best that Guerrero could do. Now tell me with a straight face that Guerrero actually has a chance of beating Mayweather....
On the other hand, this type of analysis is why I'm actually really big on Wilder. Yeah his opposition has been weak, but he is brutally thrashing all of them, and all of his opponents are getting blown out much quicker by him than they have by anyone else (lol except Price also finished Audley in a round).
I guess I just started discussions on two completely different boxers, but the point is to encourage people to read deeper into a boxer's record.
bojangles' triangle theories ain't got sh1t on that dude. :lol1:

Guess I'll have to try harder. I look like a clown now.
You don't need to look at the Aydin fight to see Guerrero doesn't stand a chance. Guerrero doesn't stand a chance because Mayweather is a far more superior boxer. Pick any of Mayweather's opponents since Gatti and tell me how many of them Guerrero can beat. The answer will tell you who wins Saturday.
How many of Mayweather's opponents since Gatti could Guerrero not have beaten? Oscar, Cotto, maybe Hatton?

I give Guerrero a chance to win but it is a very small chance. If Mayweather is anything like his old self I think he wins an easy KO within 10 rounds or less.

If a fighter does enough to win, he's successful. He'll look back and improve on the things he didn't do greatly. Very few fighters completely outclass all of their opposition
If we take on your argument, Mayweather didn't do that great against Cotto. Are we supposed to read anything into that?
every aspect of your post is wrong.
first of all aydin was a top 10 welterweight. also styles make fights and it was guerreros first fight at the weight his upcoming fight being the third (which makes a big difference).
you also have to look at how a round is won, ayding throws big shots and gets lots of credit for single punches landed. guerrero made some mistakes and got caught with one or two big shots and lost rounds that way even though he was in control of almost the entire fight.
what you say about wilder is retarded and makes it seem like you started watching boxing last week. big punchers always walk through their competition early, they fight guys with no defense and that power is all they need. when they fight real opponents they need to have the skill and intelligence to land those shots too.
meanwhile far better fighters might not get the same cans out of there as early, but when they fight real oposition they can compete because they have skills and smarts. a big puncher can chase a hundred cab drivers out of the ring in the first round and it still doesnt mean anything except that he can punch. a big punch alone doesnt get you far in boxing if you lack skills and smarts which is exactly the case with wilder.
on the oposite end a wellrounded guy like guerrero seldom shines, but he seldom loses too because while hes not a huge puncher or great in any one area he doesnt have a lot of flaws either and he knows how to get the job done by any means. all wilder knows is how to knock over an easy target.
Styles make fights. Many saw the Aydin fight as being a 50:50 fight in the run up due to Aydin's big power and Guerrero making the jump to Welterweight. He then went on to beat Berto better than Ortiz did.
Certainly you have to pick Mayweather as the favourite but no doubt Guerrero is a live dog
IMO Guerrero got lucky against Berto because of an incompetent referee, but I guess that's a whole different argument lol.
