I am honestly not buying this one, but I am going to watch it at buffalo wild wings ^^
LOL I'm watching it a local bar. I highly doubt it does 1 million.
floyd needs canelo alvarez to sell ppv
I agree. In fact, Floyd's opponents are the ones who usually bring in the crowd. Except for Guerrero. He brings no one.
The only thing I think dents the PPV sales is no HBO, when I think PPV, I think HBO.
24/7s buildup is way better than Showtimes. Either way Mayweather Vs Guerrero still does 1 Million+ PPV buys
I think the PPV does well over a million for the following reasons:
1. Cinco De Mayo weekend is party time for many hispanics and boxing goes hand in hand
2. Robert Guerrero has a good hispanic last name (Warrior)
3. People want to see if Floyd is still Floyd after Prison
4. Robert Guerrero has really sold himself to Christians (700 Club etc.) I'm sure this will bring in some first time PPV buyers
5. Big PPV fight parties only happen a few times per year.
My prediction is over 1.2 million PPV buys for all of the above reasons.
Well damn, Floyd is the only PPV attraction that gets no credit, Delahoya, Pac, Tyson and everyone else was just beast.
But supposedly Floyd has needed Canelo Alvarez for each fight of the last 4-5 years.
Yes the manny bradley PPV was failure
and I dont know where you get this BS oif $69.99 cause i get it in super slow mo triple high def for only $54.99 and yes they did order it for canelo. Put oscar on right now in his prime and his PPV will exceed 1.2 mil every time. He started it all man. Times have changed
Put Canelo vs a tomato can and it will do 300K buys trust me. Canelo is a star why cant you just accept it.
Canelo is s rising star, obviously. He still has never headlined a PPV and we won't know until he does.
But to think people bought it just to see those 3 fights, you're kidding yourself. So in other words, if Floyd wasn't on the card there, those fights would still have done 300-400K buys??? Youre high....
Really??? Than i guess Pacquiao vs Clottey and Bradley were complete failures too, right???
You know how many times Oscar was able to get over 1 million PPV's.....4 times. And 2 of those were against Manny and Floyd.
You think 300-400K thousand people paid 70 dollars to watch Canelo fight Jose Miguel Cotto, Alfonso Gomez, and Shane Mosley who wasn't a legit fight for over 2 years at that point???
I highly doubt it. You have it twisted, having Canelo on the cards was icing on the cake, though they were all against terrible opponents.
Let's see how many PPV's Canelo-Trout would have sold, or how many Canelo vs Angulo would sell. I highly doubt they sell 350-400K PPV's like you claim.

No but I bet a pretty penny that at least 3-4 hundred K bought them because of Canelo, having Floyd in the main event is a bonus
I myself know of 12 people that bought the lat PPV when Canelo was on the undercard fighting Oldsley
Right now Canelo can headline his own PPV and generate easily 300-400K buys thats about the same as Oscar, Manny and Floyd did on there first ones so it wouldnt be seen as a failure
but to answer the question Floyd should do over 1 mili
im saying 1.1. Anthing less than 1mil is a complete failure for him at this point

Yeah because 1.4 million, 1.25 million, and 1.5 million people bought those fights to watch Canelo vs Jose Miguel Cotto, Canelo vs Alfonso Gomez, and Canelo vs irrelevant Shane Mosley.

Senseless thread.
Truth is it starts with you, him, her, they, me as well as other fans out there. If you believe this is a useless fight, then stop complaining and start doing something about it - don't buy it. Tell your friends, co-workers, relatives... If he keeps making these tons of money, there's no way it's going to stop.
Might as well STFU.
People say this every time he fights and he always pulls off good numbers. This will probably be his lowest numbers in a while, but I think it come in just around 1 million buys.
I used to think it would do 1.0-1.15 million, but now I'm thinking 900K.
Also, the numbers aren't inaccurate if Golden Boy releases how much revenue the fight generated, as they did with Mayweather-Ortiz. Top Rank releases these numbers that Pacquiao vs Mosley/Marquez 3/Bradley/Marquez 4 supposedly did, without releasing any revenue numbers for those fights all.
If Golden Boy lied about how much revenue the fight made, they'd be in trouble with the IRS for tax reasons. That's what Schaefer was talking about when he told Arum they could open up their books to see how much each guy generates per fight, and than decide a reasonable split, but he said no way Arum would want to do that.
Anyways, if this fight does 1 million or more, that's nothing short of a miracle.
Highly unlikely
There is no buzz at all, my friends at work don't even know who Guerrerro is. I told him he has a goatee and they still didn't know who he was.
I think this fight does 750K MAX
I think it'll do 850k, maybe a little bit over. Might get reported as 1 mil+ by Golden Boy though.
Casuals are the bulk of PPV buys, and those same casuals have not a fucking clue who Robert Guerrero is.
