So there is JMM vs Bradley fighting, which a lot of people will buy. Floyd has ran out of Mexicans and pay per view draws, so he either fights Canelo or he fights Alexander. Canelo on the other hand can fight Cotto.
JMM vs Bradley
Canelo vs Cotto
Floyd vs Alexander
Which one would you buy? I'll flip a coin for the first two.
Canelo pretty much is trying to dictate to Floyd to fight him on Sep 14 or else his pay per view numbers will take a hit. That's a bold move, let's see if Golden Boy will carry two pay per views cause if they refuse Canelo might do one on his own. Also if Floyd happens to lose to Guerrero, then Canelo will fight him.
Who could Floyd credibly fight that would would make him the number choice for PPV on that date?? Martinez is out broken hand/needs surgery. Would he dare fight GGG at 154 cause i would buy that over the others, even though I highly doubt it cause if he loses there goes all that Showtime money.
Danny??
Lucas??
Khan??
Broner??lol
How many times must people repeat things. Bob Arum will not put a PPV up to compete against Mayweather. No one will. Canelo-Cotto would be on PPV .... where? HBO? You think they're going to put up money and fund a PPV to compete....it's extremely unlikely. Showtime will pick up Floyds. Wether you say Canelo is a PPV draw or not... it remains to be seen, he's yet to headline one. So it'd be a risk regardless of what random posters think, HBO is a business out to make money. Risk vs Reward same as boxing. Also look at it this way, what kind of undercard would it have using Canelos promotional Company if he tried on his own? GBP will stack Mayweathers card.... you just can't compete.

What part of Bob Arum already said he won't compete against Floyd do people not get?
On the real, Canelo shouldn't fight Cotto next. He should let Cotto fight the Ishe/Molina winner, and he should fight the Lara/Angulo winner.
I cant see that happening, as much as I would like it too. One more lose for Cotto and he can forget about the Canelo fight. Even if he looks terrible but still wins it will be hard to make.
I know he is coming off a lose but the fight still sells very well at this stage. Also a win for Canelo over Cotto makes the Mayweather fight bigger.
In a perfect world mayweather should fight canleo next assuming he gets past the Ghost.
I actually agree with fish here... I think he would've beaten Smith, but Molina will be too damn frustrating for Cotto and make it ugly.
Would've been good for Ishe, not so much for Molina.
Cotto should strike now or take a fight so he at least has a win under his belt and active.
If he goes straight to Cotto, that's like 9 months from the ring already.

Is it possible for canelo to do a PPV with HBO while mayweather does Showtime?
I know HBO said there not working with GBP but have they got a written agreement saying there not doing business? Or did they just announce they wont be working with GBP and just stopped? Is it possible they would pick up Cotto v Canelo?
What if Canelo went out on his own for this fight and worked with Cotto promotions?
Im pretty sure Showtime and HBO have gone head to head on the same weekend. (chavez vs martinez....Canelo vs Lopez)
What? Even if they did somehow, they still won't do that.
Having a PPV on the same day is bad for everybody. Why would either side won't to hurt their profits?
If Mayweather has a PPV that day, no way GBP will have a show because that'll hurt the PPV numbers and Mayweather works with them.
Now Bob might go and try to do something to eff it up, but Hoya won't atm.
There is no way canelo would fight cotto on the undercard.
One its a huge PPV on its own and they both would be missing out on a heap of $$$
Two canelo said he would never fight on a Mayweather undercard again.
Three im pretty sure Cotto would be having non of that either as he is a PPV attraction.
So than Canelo will move his date.....which is EXACTLY what I said...............
Canelo Lopez was not PPV. Canelos never headlined a PPV. If they did it, it'd be on free HBO, and if Canelo-Cotto is going to be on free HBO it won't make a ton of money. I don't see that happening. Also if Canelo wants to do the PPV on his own, GBP will not cover the fees and promotional money, It'd have to come purely out of pocket.

I agree won't happen, but it won't matter, Canelo will have to move dates. Competing against Floyd is one thing, but in a fight vs a worn out and that this point done Cotto is going to be hard. It'll be name value but it's a terrible fight at this point.
Well....Arum has already stated if Floyd fights on September 14th, he will move Marquez-Bradley. And I'm sure if Canelo wasn't on the undercard, he'd move to a different September date.
I really think it'll be either Mayweather-Alvarez or Mayweather-Peterson, if Peterson beats Lucas.

Not only GBP, Showtime won't allow that either.
Canelo has no signed contract with GBP, he outsources his fight through his Canelo promotions through GBP in the same manner Mayweather does, so if push come to shove he can shop his PPV event to HBO if he likes, unlikely but that is a possibility.

Canelo vs Cotto easily hands down as it will have more hype and more intrique then any of the other fights, Canelo should KO cotto but can he? he had a very close fight against a limited fighter in trout.
There is no opponent out there for floyd anymore to sell a PPV on. His stature in the sport will carry the numbers but the hype and fight week Atmosphere has already left command. Take thsi week for instant, no buss what so ever. Mayweather sells his fight off the haters who want to see him lose but with these new opponent selection that mystic of the "he might lose this time" is pretty much gone and with that his hype and buzz is pretty much gone aswell.
Bradley vs JMM will be interesting aswell but neither are mass attraction on their own I just cant see being the most appealing to the masses.
Appeal to the masses will be
1st. Canelo vs Trout
2nd. Mayweahter vs TBA
3rd. Bradley vs JMM
Arum already said if Floyd is fighting on that date he's moving Marquez Bradley to October.
Golden Boy wouldn't have Canelo and Floyd compete on separate events that's just retarded.
Not only GBP, Showtime won't allow that either.
