and what was the best fight in your opinion?
I really enjoyed all the fights this weekend, one of the best in recent times. Khan - Diaz, Martinez - Murray, Garcia - Judah all very good fights to watch and have just caught up with the Stiverne - Arreola fight, which was also very good.
Going to give the Garcia - Judah fight my vote for best fight. I fully expected to see Zab fold, especially after nearly replicating his 'chicken dance' in the early rounds, but gotta give him props for staying in there and giving Garcia all sorts of problems towards the end of the fight.
Performance of the night has to go to Martin Murray in my opinion. That must have been one of the most hostile and intimidating atmospheres you could ever fight in, but he just didnt seem fazed by it at all, executed his gameplan brilliantly(tough for any fighter, but against a fighter of Martinez caliber in that atmosphere, incredibly impressive) and really could and should have won.
What do you think?:boxing:
Khan is never in a dull fight, yet cops so much grief. Its weird.
He's a delusional loudmouth that throws the people around him under the bus in a heartbeat. Hard to like someone like that, no matter how entertaining they are.
Looks like they have it here:

It was a really good competitive fight. I was shocked both by the punches Diaz was able to take, and his ability to stop Porter in his tracks. Porter's not an elite talent, but he's not chinny or featherfisted.
Thanks man!:fing02:
Gotta say I was impressed with Diaz too. I havent seen the Porter fight, is it online somewhere?

Lots of impressive performances by the underdogs. For to me Stiverne was the most impressive. He looked like crap vs Austin, and carried some chin questions. But showed really good skills, excellent power, and lots of composure (and some chin) when Arreola had him on the ropes.
Garcia Judah was better than expected, but not that good or suspenseful. Mostly Zab taking a beating and not throwing punches until the last 3 rounds, and even then I never got the impression Garcia was there for the taking. Khan Diaz was a lot like Bradley Prov, but these nailbiters are like par for the course for Khan.
BTW, that's Diaz looking surprisingly good in back to back fights as a big underdog. Remember he used to have a Khan like chin at 135. When he gave Porter all he could handle everyone said, well Porter just sucks. Looks like it wasn't a total fluke. Without major durability issues he's a very solid fighter.

I thought the Quillin/Guerrero fight was good too. Guerrero took some big shots, came back and showed a lot of heart.
Yeah it was good, I thought Guerrero was gone after the first KD. It was one of the best nights of boxing in a long time.
Best performance as reluctant as i am to admit this because i am a Arreola fan. I have to say it was Stavine. He keep his composure even when Arreola came on very strong. He tried to end the fight in the final round against a hurt but very dangerous, game Arreola. Stiverne showed patience of an experiance veteran.
Best fight of the night imo, has to go to Garcia vs. Judah. Judah showed that he can still fight a top level fighter. But it was Garcia who allowed Judah to give the performance he gave by allowing Judah to think more than he should have been allowed to in the ring. This happened because Garcia gave Judah a lot of respect in the ring and you shouldn't give a veteran like Judah too much time to think in their.
I've been really impressed by Garcia every since i first seen him against Morales. He's getting better and against Judah he reminded me of an old school fighter throwing bombs with bad intentions. I like his style and i think its unique and very entertaining. I think if he keeps improving with his power shots left hook, right hook he going to be difficult to beat. I can see him beating Mathesye in a great fight. But a fight between him and Bradley who be a barn burner unless Bradley boxs to much with in that case a Mathesye v. Garcia would be the better fight.
Which fight did you like best? I thought the Garcia - Zab fight was excellent to watch.

I think the best fight was Garcia vs Judah.
Best performance I would have to go with Stiverne the guy fought a great fight and proved me wrong I thought Arreola was going to beat him.
Martin Murray also fought a great fight last night. If the ref would have scored that second knock down a KD instead of a slip. I think he would have won that fight or a least a draw.
I had Martinez winning 114 to 113. Roy jones thought it was a legit KD. To bad HBO didn't have footage of their feet hopefully it wasn't a blown call by the ref.
I had the Martinez - Murray fight for Murray by a point, close fight. I thought the Stiverne - Arreola fight was really good. It was the first time I have seen Stiverne, I think, and I was pretty impressed with him...props to Arreola too, he showed a lot of guts in there.

I didn't think Murray was quite busy enough to win, by a hair's breadth. Just should have put in that extra 10% activity.
Did anyone else think that fight reminded them of Gatti/Ward stylistically?
My favourtie bit of boxing of the evening was from Judah in the 10th and 11th rounds of the Garcia fight.
Also, Garcia proved he can think a little and box with both hands etc. - not just a left hook wonder.
When Harrison went down (lol) the way Wilder was swinging at him was very wild and raw. I reckon he needs to tighten up that technique a bit. Almost fell over himself.
Watching Wilder flailing away like that was pretty funny.
I think Khan gets flack for his flaws/limitations, but his vulnerability is part of what makes him exciting. Khan is becoming must-watch TV, doesn't matter who he's fighting. His punch resistance and leaky defense will get him in trouble every time, but that doesn't stop him from getting up and trying to recover.
True, true..I think another KO loss is just around the corner, but it'll be a fun ride until that happens.

Performance of the night belongs to Murray. I think the fight of the night was Khan/Diaz. Watching Khan in survival mode is very entertaining, puts a smile on my face every single time :lol1:

Zab Judah, just because of the heart, desire, passion and will to win he displayed. Normally he shows up long enough to collect his paycheck, but last night was a different story.
