Seems attractive now after that scare he gave Martinez.
He's the interim champ (I think he still is, don't think they make champs interim champs)
And even if he isn't, he'd be cool to get another shot at the WBA champ.
Would you guys be cool with it if Murray was one of Golovkin's 5 fights this year?
I think it's good, especially after this fight
Not sure to be honest but they'd find a decent enough venue perhaps in Liverpool or Nottingham or Manchester or somewhere.
Undercards a good shout.
Is Murray still with Hatton promotions?
yeah, I may be wrong don't see him getting a visa into the US to fight though with security so high these days, imo this fight takes place in the UK.
I actually meant where in the UK. I don't suppose Murray is well enough known to hold it in the MEN arena so I guess it may be on an undercard somewhere.
As an aside, have you ever watched the boxing radio show I linked? it's an entertaining listen.

You'd expect Murray to travel if needs be.
Golovkin would probably be up for traveling too.

Golovkin's trainer said Hearn wouldn't put Barker in with Golovkin (according to a Hearn interview on youtube). Maybe Geale would fight him but it's doubtful.
Where would the Murray fight take place? Would they turn out for him in Wigan or maybe it could be on a Froch undercard?

Absolutely.
Murray just beat Martinez IMO and dropped him twice.
If Golvokin destroyed him it would be a very good win.
First he has to beat Macklin better than Martinez which I expect him to. Then Murray next would be ideal.
Barker-Geale winner if there also.

True about the lucas comparison, but if im GGG i just stay in america and fight whoever HBO lets me fight... They would let him get some easy mandatories as long as he is destroying them and looking like a million bucks,,, Proska and Rosado werent exactly known guys when HBO greenlighted those fights... Hbo is looking for new stars and GGG is one they are trying to hype... They let broner fight a bunch of nobodies so why not GGG
Broner is from the US so he has a bigger potential upside, plus I don't think HBO got much out of giving Broner easy fights anyway. It's his trainer who says HBO refuses to sign off on nobodies, they won't put the money up.

HBO won't sign off on unknowns. Golovkin has to fight live known opponents or they won't show his fights. They wanted to fight Curtis Stevens, HBO turned the fight down.
I'm not sure how durable Murray will be anyway, but if they do rob him it won't matter if Golovkin won the fight (see Matthysse-Judah/Alexander).

If im GGG i dont travel to the UK.... Murray is durable and probably go to a dec.. and GGG could be robbed...
I would stay in America and just fight unknowns and ko them till there was a huge demand for GGG to fight a major fight... Especially with HBO behind him, he can just fight his mandatories til something big comes along.....

Golovkin's manager was on the radio last night, GGG is finding it almost impossible to get opponents to sign on the dotted line.
It looks like Murray is next since he is the only one who is willing but Golovkin will have to travel to the UK.

He would duck GGG doe.... Nobody wants none with the G.... (Boxingscene fanboys endorsed).

Would be an awesome card, but IMO.. it's Sept 14th or October
Macklin fight is June 29th so a early Sept fight means Golovkin would have to go into camp right away a week or two later. Klitschko vs Povetkin is supposed to be Sept 7th or 14th in Moscow and Gena is with K2 it would be great if he was on the undercard for that and HBO might show some interest in that HW fight anyways.
Shit, I forgot about that. Well, there goes the possibility of Murray/Quillin.
Quillin is seriously strapped for options. Maybe Geale, but Shaw has been totally squeezed out at Showtime, and is probably on much better terms with HBO. Still money talks. Barker is also an option, but just as likely for Hearn to snatch Geale away for Barker.
Golovkin could use his non HBO fight for this like he did against Ishida.
The only problem is there won't be as much money compared to if it was on HBO. So what I think needs to be done is Murray sort his Visa problems out by December so a fight can happen.
If Golovkin was on a Chavez undercard, it would be to build up to ao fight against each other
Yeah, but since HBO wants him back, it'd be stupid to take on GGG on Wealth TV. Anyway, since Chavez wants Murray, that's a no brainer. Put it in Mexico, no visa issues. Probably a good hard hitting fight.
Last time Murray was to fight in the US, vs Chavez, he was denied a visa for having been in prison. I'm not really sure how much promoters can help here, these guys are very inflexible. Certainly Angulo would have gotten a bigger push than whatever Murray can expect. But maybe they could fight in Europe.

Right, but HBO doesn't love going overseas unless it's an event fight, and nobody likes tape delays. So it's tricky logistically. It'd make sense for one of GGG's Euro stay busy fights, but I agree HBO would like Murray back. Maybe Canada would let him in? I think with GGG you can get creative with the site, he's flexible. Chavez undercard in Mexico?
