Now that we've seen Alvarez against Trout, I'm wondering how he would have fared against the many fighters he was supposed to have fought recently. IMO:
vs. Ortiz he counters Ortiz coming in and the mental midget can't take it.
vs. Kirkland he does the same thing, and even though Kirkland isn't a mental midget, he too gets stopped.
vs. Williams... I think Williams may have actually pulled this one out of the bag. Obviously we didn't see Canelo pressuring to any great extent last night due to the open scoring, but I really think that Williams' length coupled with Canelo's crippling lack of activity would have given Canelo a really hard time.
Thoughts?
I've always rooted for Paul Williams, but Canelo would have stopped him. I don't care about Williams' durability or activity, he fights to his opponent's height and his defense is horrible, Canelo would have stopped him. I like Paul too but I'm simply being real.
