I actually enjoy Dwyer's vids. He has the same right/wrong ratio on predicting fights as anyone else. He does give good insight, gives good strategies, and spends a lot of time sharing his opinion with others. He is also a hell of a nice guy. I have had a few conversations with him and he always answers back and yes he loves input from others as long as they are not full of insults.
So many in here though seem to love to bash anything that does not align with their own thoughts or agendas. Does Dwyer lean towards favoring a pure boxer? Yes he does. He also sees exceptions on that rule with guys like Golovkin, who he believes has a very good chance of cleaning out the entire middleweight division.
Sometimes it is good to listen to the opinion of another fan even if it is the polar opposite of what you think can happen in the fight. An extra set of eyes and interpretation can quite often save you from making a betting mistake.
People were definitely overestimating him as far as being a skilled boxer.
He's still a top 5 guy at the weight but I would take Lara, Molina, Canelo and of course Floyd (if he plans on staying) over him.
Still a great win for Canelo though. Enough to silence his critics for a while.
Harsh, look how he re-adjusted after getting knocked down. He is highly skilled, maybe not the next Pernell Whitaker but come on.
maybe people just overestimated Trout

Trout was robbed the judges had the fight won for Alvarez by round 8. The open scoring also affected the remaining rounds, Alvarez was taking no risks and Trout was taking more.
That's odd, considering Trout doesn't feel that way. Trout is classy, admitted defeat, admitted he was beat by the better man. It's a shame his fans aren't the same.
He's worst than you thought, but he's leagues away from the kid in your sig. and avi. In every aspect of the sport!
Danny will have a HOF career and Canelo will always be a sideshow attraction.
I knew it all the time!!!!
I`ve seen canelo fighting from he`s early fights, with Televisa(mexico primary television network).
He started with Tv AZteca(mexico 2nd television network) but he was kind of frustrated because he felt that Tv Azteca wasn`t given the support to all the boxers there except for julio cesar chavez Jr.
Thats why theres beef between them.
So then he jump to Televisa and when they interview him, he would say that he consider himself as a counter puncher. But then when he started getting notice in mexico he started to box as a brawler cause that what the mexican fan look in a boxer.
So it didn`t surprise me at all.
If he's successful as a gambler he wouldn't need to sell his predictions to make money. :smashfrea
If Warren Buffet is as successful as an investor, he wouldn't need to sell his advice to make money. :smashfrea
Dwyer is a gambler that looks for value for his betting (i.e. underdogs (+100 or better)). When that happens, you tend to start favoring certain underdogs, disregarding surefire favorites, and that can open you up to losing. Boxing is one of the toughest sports to use this value betting approach because of the nature of the sport and the betting lines of it.
Dwyer actually picked the black fighter to win. That is a surprise. That guy Dwyer is wrong most of the time. It takes him twenty minutes to say what he could say in two minutes. He says the word right about every thirty seconds. He gives fighters some of the worst advice I have ever heard. If you bet the opposite of the way Dwyer says to bet you might make money.
why do you motherf*ckers stay so caught up on that race sh1t?!?....how do you notice sh1t like that?!?....do you look for it or does it just look for you?!?....gtfoh with that 1900's state of mind....its 2013 man...smh...kill that noise!!
Nelo suprised me as well....his head movement was sick...had Trout shadow boxing in there :lol1:
I don't think any of us expected Canelo to be that much faster and sharper than an opponent on Trout's level. Not that Trout is very fast, but his boxing was expected to take away some of Canelos offense. It slowed down his output, but Canelo was fast enough to land everything in his library. Strait right, hook, jab, uppercut, it was all there.
Ignore his WBC "world title," as of last night Canelo is the champ.
I did and posted why I did in posts prior to the fight.
Paraphrasing: His excellent technique and good handspeed is going to make him appear to be just as fast as Trout...
Alvarez had displayed everything he did last night before last night. People saw it, but didn't recognize it due to (their disregard of his past opposition, bias, etc.).
The open-scoring wasn't cool but we can only judge the fight as we saw it. Close fight, no robbery.
However, what is clear is Saul Alvarez is a lot better than most people felt he was (myself included).
I agree with this, close fight that either man could have won imo..The only thing I have an issue with was the scorecard margins..Yesh..

NE DOES NOT SAY THE WORD RIGHT EVERY 30 SECONDS!!!! HE SAYS THE WORD "LITERALLY" EVERY 20 SECONDS!:smashfrea
He does sometimes have a bias regarding the expliotation (percieved as by him) of African Americans....His take on the Knox case was imo a bit disturbing, but don't we all have our pinions!!!!:ninja:

I never paid a dime to him for his predictions....Again why say something like this? He may sell information but he gives a lot away for free, I could watch a prefight commentary and follow to a tee his picks if I wanted too (I don't gamble on the fights cause my wife would kill me) B UT IF I DID!
His picks are posted on here for every big fight and most of the time his main bet loses, his straddle bet comes in usually but that is to cover the money he lost on the main.
If you look at the fights he comments on and consider:
who wins...not always who the judges pick, but who sports fans in a majority pick, Dwyer is way over 50%. I will let you look it up but a consensus of like informed individuals is actually quite accurate. In other words for example, most people know Sweet Pea outclassed Chavez right? If dwyer picked the pea that goes to Dwyer.
Straddles take a lot to do properly. I know this from options....try it some time and see if you can be succesful with straddles. My point being that there is no shame in hedging and winning
Dwyer is amusing because he has developed some of his own vocabulary...very creative actually. He also speaks intelligently, has a law degree, is succesful as a gambler (documented), is generous with his insights, and in general has a live and let live attitude. I look foward to his vids and if I disagree with some of his points, which occasionally happens.... I know we could probably have a civil discussion about it and both learn abit!
Besides how many "rubes" (Ray's great expression) here...including the many geniuses that critiscize spelling, have an advanced degree from a University like Stanford, much less a law degree? Take it from a rube that has an advanced degree....there are easier things to do if you catch my drift.
