Should Canelo fight Cotto next?

He ain't fought a mandatory in two years. He should probably look into that.

If its ever gonna happen it should be Canelo's next fight then Cotto should hang it up

he can't beat molina tho Not an easy fight by any means, but he can win that fight IMO.

GBP will try to make Cotto vs Canelo it's a big payday for both fighters. I would like to see it make it happen.

Canelo should fight the Lara-Angulo winner, Cotto the Smith-Molina winner. Then the winners fight. Cotto should get back in the win column first and take the IBF strap. Be for almost the undisputed JMW title if they both win these interim fights.

Fighters that lost two straight fights should not get title shots at all. If Cotto won a couple tune ups or a comeback fight I would have no objection to him getting a title shot.

If the Floyd fight doesn't happen, I think the Cotto fight would be the next best option. I have Canelo stopping Cotto in 7 rounds or so.

I like his chances better against Canelo to be honest. Canelo isn't a pressure fighter, the fight would be a tactical affair, with savage exchanges from both guys. The man with a stronger resolve will be crowned champion. I think Cotto's mental fortitude is better than he's often given credit for. The man is a survivalist. He is willing to soak severe amounts of damage even if it means going out on his shield, to be a trooper. And he can crack with the best of em. If you're Canelo's matchmaker and you looked at Trout as a good test of wits, Cotto is definitely the flip side to that. Cotto's going to test his will. It makes sense to steer Canelo into a Cotto fight if you're building him up for a showdown with animals like Martinez and GGG

Absolutely not. He should fight the Lara/Angulo winner next, and Cotto should fight the Molina/Smith winner. That way it gives a path for them to clash in a significant fight. If Cotto was only coming off 1 loss to Floyd, I'd say make the fight. But he's lost two in a row now. Let him get a decent win again first.

I'm in the minority here but I like Miguel's chances, always said Cotto stood the best chance in beating Canelo out of the current 54 pounders. Cotto's boxing ability, jab, also think he'll keep turning Canelo, he does have the superior foot speed...I like his chances. Cotto struggled against Trout due to the ranginess, height/ reach and style of Trout, getting to Canelo will not prove troublesome. VERY good fight. Except the accurate and powerful counters that would be coming his way. Cotto is way past his prime while Saul is just entering his. I don't wan't to see cotto get butchered again man.

Cotto is coming off of 2 back to back losses, one to a fighter Canelo just edged. Nah, I think he should elevate himself. Cotto now is taking a step in reverse.
