Yup, I'm here to eat my crow. He showed great skill last night. More than I thought he had. His power was there, His speed, timing and head movement was on point. What's crazy was his combination punching wasn't. However Canelo had the skill to stick with a marvelous gameplan.
Now all that's left is for Canelo/Floyd to happen. And true to myself, I'll ride with the Ginger if it gets made. Congrats on a job well done kid!!:boxing:

Alright, I wanna know what the hell happened to the real Bushbaby.
:rofl::rofl:
Canelo is a very good fighter. Wasn't even a doubt in my mind about him before last night. Just thought Trout would win.
Mark my words, sig it, whatever. If Floyd Mayweather is the same guy he was in 2011-2012 against Ortiz and Cotto, he will beat Canelo's ass the second half of that fight. You can't beat Mayweather taking off 2: 30 a round, landing 2-3 eye catching punches, because the rest of the round Floyd is landing eye catching punches.
In the words of Roger Mayweather.....Floyd will ring tap that ass down the stretch. You can't gas out after 4 rounds, and not fight hard the entire fight, to beat Mayweather. Castillo fought hard every second of every round against Floyd, gave him no room to breathe.
lol "keep doin whachu doin" Roger Mayweather who Floyd has just dropped for his real coach.
The Floyd that fought Castillo isn't the 2009-2013 version. This version walks towards his opponent and stands in front of him.

I said 3 years ago that Canelo vs Mayweather would be biggest grossing fight ever in boxing. People laughed at me as OBV Pac vs May was the biggest but....Who is laughing now ???
Austin Trout is an excellent fighter and I for one would love to buy a ticket for his next fight if it is anywhere near me. He makes good fights and comes to WAR even as a slick boxer with average power. Canelo is just a beast. Love the fact that both had the balls to fight each other.
Canelo is getting even better...scary thought.:boxing::boxing::boxing:
Trout missed a lot, but Canelo looked like s**t in the sense that he fought hard for about 30-45 seconds a round. And there were many many many times, which no one wants to talk about, that Canelo missed his shots.
When Canelo pressed Trout, he got turned and didn't really have much success trapping Trout into the corner/ropes. When Canelo didn't press him, he laid on the ropes and didn't punch back hardly ever.
I don't know. I left the fight feeling let down by both guys.
Yeah, just playing devils advocate. Only time will tell just how good either man is. Pretty much the only thing I was impressed with from canelo was his head movement, seemed to make a big improvement there. But it was a good competitive fight.
Besides canelos stamina issue, I disagree with him looking like sh1t. Both are good fighters, and weren't able to have their way with eachother.

Sweet, glad to see you gave him his due respect.....big props for that. It's a shame some others are still searching for excuses for the win.
It was a great fight and Canelo showed some aspects of his skill set that he hadn't shown yet. Trout will pretty much beat anyone else out there at 154 and has nothing to be ashamed about at all. He showed true character and class in the post fight interview, I respect him big time for that interview.
Well that's the thing....Trout didn't look at that great either. Certainly not as good as he did in the Cotto fight. But Canelo looked like s**t too a lot of times, and stamina was shot after 4 rounds.
I knew after 4 rounds when Al Berstein talked about what the judges had, that Trout needed to wine very single second of every round, not get touched by anything at all, or knock Canelo out, to win.

Canelo clearly won the fight, he landed the harder shots, made Trout miss, was more accurate with his punches, and found a way to win against an excellent southpaw.
Trout also deserves a lot of credit he took away many elements of Canelo's game, by not letting him get on the inside to land his money shot left hook to the body and stopped him from getting his combinations going.
trout's a tough nut to crack. he just beat miguel cotto. he was a big 154 lb southpaw who was in his prime.
both gusy fought eh best guy they'd been in the ring with. i wouldn't say either looked like a bad fighter, only that they were in a more difficult fight in which to look good.
if alvarez is in there with somebody who wants to trade he will trash them. and if trout is in i nthere with basically any other 154 lber on the planet he'll have a good time boxing.
floyd mayweather would give up a lot of weight, but he beats both.

Kudos to you, Bushbaby. :fing02:
In fairness, this year's fights have mostly been upsets and I've gotten most wrong. I had Price over Thompson, Donaire over Rigondeaux, and Trout over Alvarez. The only one I got right was Fury over Cunningham, and I thought that would be by decision.

Surprising to see you speak these words, when there are a lot of the Canelo haters trying to claim Trout was robbed. I thought Canelo clearly won and looked good. Props to you Bro!
I'm with you. He did what he had to do to beat an excellent fighter in trout. It's hard to hit trout with combinations so canelo wen't for the home run hitters. Canelo would give floyd major problems. Mayweather fights nothing like trout who throws non-stop. He will let canelo fight a slow pace and canelo size, power, timing will give floyd hell probably beat him.
Which potentially isn't a knock on anyone. Maybe Trout is just a great boxer?

Regardless of who ever anyone thought won the fight......I don't see how anyone saw Canelo make a statement??? He didn't look all that great to me, and neither did Trout. I don't know...

Respect to you my brother. Canelo sowed something he never did before. He doesn't fight everyone the same. He adjusts to his opponent. He's only 22 but fights like he's a veteran nothing to hate about this kid.

close fight. good fight. both guys will be around for a long time. trout's footspeed gave him a lot of problems, but he was able to slip much of his offense and do a measure of damage with his power.
