This is exactly what Trout said after the fight idk how anyone can realistically say the Trout clearly won the fight. I agree it was very close I think Canelo won 116-112.
I just played it again on DVR and wrote down everything he said in the post fight interview.
Trout after the fight word for word: He was the better man. He was quicker he was stonger. He was the better man than me I have no excuses for tonight. I ask God that he helps me accept my defeat humbly. Again I have no excuses who won the fight the better man took it. He boxed a lot better then I thought and he moved a lot better then i though. He shocked us. To Trout Nation I am sorry I failed this time I will come back stronger.
Commentators didn't touch too much on the head movement or evasiveness but I for one was very impressed by it. I don't see how anyone who claims to be a fan of the "sweet science" aspect can overlook it. It was a large part of his defense and has gotten little credit.
I agree. Canelo's upper body movement gave Trout a very hard time in the ring tonight. I just re-watched the fight via DVR and saw that it was a much closer fight than I saw live. I still had Canelo winning, but I scored it 114-113 for Canelo. There were a few close rounds, so two of the judges were in my margin of scores. 116-111, and 115-112 are both good scores IMO. The last judge was out to lunch if you ask me. Great night for boxing, and Texas judges for the most part did get it right.
Saul surprised me with his movement and overall defense. Im more of a fan today than I was yesterday. :fing02:
I wouldnt mind seeing them both fight again minus the semi-open scoring.
trout didn't land any punches, that's why he knew for a fact he didn't win, if he was in a war where there were exchanges he might have felt his punches were more effective than canelo's, but he never landed much of anything, instead he was the only one eating clean shots
i think from here, we can label the people who had trout winning as idiots that should be ignored from future boxing discussions
Well that is interesting lmaooo. I'm not saying robbery as it was close, but you cant say anyone who scored it for him should be ignored from anything
I finna watch the fight on DVR, just got back from the the live fight. Im still a fan of Trout, but he was the beaten fighter tonight. Props to Saul for a damn good game plan, and he showed far more head and core movement than he has ever shown, and I saw that from a box. Should be interesting to see it from the DVR, as I surly didnt hear any commentating while I was at the fight. Just crowd noise, which may double as commentary, being that it was a pro Canelo crowd.

Well Trout is CLASS of course he is not going to make excuse or scream "ROBBERY"
But that still don't change the fact that I thought he won...could he have fought better and done some things better? ABSOLUTELY! But if this fight is away from Texas, Trout either gets the decision or they call it a Draw
I dont think the bolded is viable statement. Trout had the skills to win but did not apply himself in the manner that he should have. The best man, with the best gameplan won tonight, and boxing won as a whole, because IMHO the right fighter had his hand raised tonight.
i dont mean the prediction, i mean the guys that scored it for trout, and the guys screaming robbery right now
I scored Trout the winner, but have zero problems with Canelo taking the decision. Trout was throwing punches and dictating the flow of the fight, but he couldn't land sh*t. And the guy's power just seemed pitiful and nonexistent whenever he did land. Canelo connected with eye popping punches sporadically, but for the most part he stood there and did nothing (he showed beautiful head movement though). This was a bizarre fight.
I find those statements interesting, it was a close fight but the much easier case to make is Canelo's.
Trout fought well enough that he has nothing to be ashamed of plus Canelo was man enough to give him the shot so Trout was man enough to admit defeat.
Trout is a class act man! i know he'll come back wiser. what can't kill you can only make you stronger!
Trout fans should be proud of the effort he put front tonight.
