AMIR KHAN has told Tyson Fury he should keep his mouth shut.
The unbeaten Manchester heavyweight has gained a reputation for shooting from the hip and lip
.
Fury makes his USA debut against Steve Cunningham in New York on Saturday.
And Fury, 24, hasn’t been scared of having a go at the former IBF cruiserweight king.
But Khan says that his trash talk won’t win over American fans.

"Listen here Amir you big stiff idiot, you're gonna need 10 plumbers to do you when i'm done with you also you're getting it for sure! Call me any names and you are getting it and you know your gay lover Manny Pacquiao? " *cuts off*
Great post. Green k,
Im not a fan of trash talking as a means of self promotion. But it obviously works, and Tyson says such utterly stupid things people actually love him for it. Even though they all think he is a terrible boxer.
Unfortunately, even if a fighter annoys and irritates people, it still translates to ticket sales.
Thanks, man.
That's definitely the case. Even those who you'd expect more from seem to be caught up in this rising tide of emotionalism and are aiding rampant self promoters. The print journalist Kevin Mitchell did a piece not long ago were he ripped into Adrian Broner, who had clearly irritated him. The article had nothing whatsoever to do with Broner. There wasn't even a tenuous link. Mid paragraph he interrupted what he was writing about to state how annoyed he was by Adrian's antics.
Rather than provide rational analysis on the topic he was writing, he stops mid flow and rewards a man that clearly irritates him by giving him extra column inches and exposure which creates interest and like you rightly said, translates to ticket sales.
Unfortunately even some sections of main stream sports journalism, whilst stating that they find that level of self promotion to be crass, are encouraging it by reporting on fighters more infantile actions as if it's of real relevance to the sport of boxing.
lol Khan is great. Fury is great too. Froch and Chisora also great characters.
Brook and Burns need to step their game up and start making some noise and get themselves some big fights.
Bringing some noise to a lifeless division with attention grabbing sound-bites will leave the man hated?
That's not very likely taking into account the changes that newer technologies have had on media content. The internet fosters and encourages snippets of shallow and sensational information. In the age of Twitter how many self promote quite as well as Tyson Fury?
Khan's doesn't grasp self promotion in the same way. He's never had to.
Flashing an Olympic silver medal gets a young boxer all the attention he's gonna need before he turns pro on these shores. Then when politicians and politically minded journalists hold you up as a sorely needed poster boy for multiculturalism in Britain there really is no need to fling expletive laden insults at Tony Bellow, call David Price a p***k and say that you're gonna to smash Steve Cunningham's face in!

I have a good feeling Tyson Fury will take this the wrong way & pwn A mere con, at least I hope so.
Do it Tyson, put him in his place and make me a fan for life.
Lmao, whatever Khan!
Just because you talked trash and got your clock cleaned, doesn't mean that everyone needs to tone down on the trash talk.
Maybe Fury is able to back up his trash talk, unlike Khan. Don't get me wrong, Khan is a good fighter, but he needs to take his own advice.
Tyson furys trash talk brings excitement to boxing he makes me laugh and anything he says cant be taken seriously and he is a generally entertaining guy. Biscuit chin talks a good fight but he comes off arrogant and delusional which is a shame because he's one of the best the uk has to offer atm. I like biscuit chin but even when he trys to be humble he comes off as arrogant

Khan must have a theory... if he says enough stupid crapola, no one will miss him when he gets KO'd next meaningful fight. Not the brightest. The biggest mouth, yes, just not the brightest.
This is probably a good time to remind everyone of the time Khan said he lets his fists do the talking inside the ring.
I'm not sure he understands the reputation he has.
