I realise that it is a bit impudent of me to question the decision of someone who has made millions more than me and contributed more to the sport of boxing that I will ever succeed in contributing but what else can I say to him spewing that it's going to be a nightmare to promote Rigondeaux .
You have a two time gold medalist who just schooled a top 10 pound for pound fighter. The first step was to hype up his accomplishment not belittle his achievement by expressing his dissatisfaction with the way things went down. Hype him up as one of the best fighters in the business, talk about how remarkable his victory was and whilst the iron is hot throw him in the ring with some come forward contenders.
I also think he should abandon the approach of trying to milk fighters who simply aren't big draws in a main event and start placing them on the undercard of more recognisable fighters. He'd boost the prestige and quality of his events in addition to getting the fighters exposure.
I don't like how he treated him post fight but he's looking out for him.
$750K purse, slots on Pacquiao undercards at Cowboys Stadium and MGM, co-headliner with Donaire/Arce (although it fell though). What's GBP and Haymon doing with Erislandy Lara?
I think he knows what he has and he will make an effort to market him despite what he said after the fight. You don't give a guy $750K if you don't have any interest in him.
A guy on your roster that has all of the belts is never a bad thing. The money comes to you cause you have the guy that everybody is gunning for.
A great post in an absolutely terrible thread from a bumsniff.

Completely Agree.
I have no idea how dumping on Guillermo's victory does any good. Arum makes moves intended to generate the most possible revenue both current and long term. He's not going to change the way Rigo fights. I don't see what he's trying to accomplish here
Arum knows what's he doing, he went through this before when he promoted Marquez the first time around, even keeping him away from his cash cows, Morales and Barrera. Marquez had to change his style and take more risks in order to attract the fans and the big fights. Rigo has to change as well because he can't sell a ticket to casual fans.
Zou Shiming has less power then Rigo but he can sell tickets to the rich businessmen in China, so Arum hypes him up. Rigo has not proven to sell tickets, even in Miami where he headlined bingo hall looking arenas, and Rigo can't fight at his home in Cuba. So, it's all about business.
other than hardcore boxing fans, who would even know the name bob arum, much less what comes out of his mouth?..and lets be real, hardcore boxing fans already know prior to what uncle bob said in regards to rigo, so no damage done.
