Notice those 2 guys have long time proper promoters that HBO works with, Goossen and Shaw. Some of Haymon's guys are with GBP, so no HBO for them. But yeah, some of his guys are without a promoter (GRJ?) so HBO might be an option.
Yeah, Russell Jr. is a free agent but he's had event promoted by GBP so I wouldn't doubt he strays from TR fighters if Showtime's involved. Although, he keeps mentioning JuanMa who is with TR, so it could happen if it's TR promoting.
It's understandable since they work closely, but I think that's what a lot of us get confused about since promoters usually don't serve as managers.

You're right about both, hmm. I was under the impression he was booted along with GBP

would be funny to see grj chasing around Rigo with his t-rex arms trying to connect.
It could be a fun fight but grj need to prove himself in a major way first.
Haymon manages Chad Dawson... Last time I checked, he's fighting Stevenson on HBO.

I'm a fan of Russell and I think there would be no shame in losing to Rigondeaux. It would be an amazing fight and would gain Russell some fans if he puts on a good show.
I think Rigo beats him quite easily.
I'm not impressed with Russell to be honest, yes he has blinding speed, but they're all arm punches with little pop and he becomes very predictable.
Funny how Rico Ramos (Haymon-managed, Goossen Tutor-promoted fighter) fought Rigo... gee, how come Russell can't?
Because it's not only GBP that's off HBO, it's also Haymon
The speed of both is intriguing! Moving up might possibly mess with Rigondeaux but that is yet to be seen and why a move up in weight class would be interesting.
If Russell were to step up and get a title, I fight between the two would be great!
It would make a good fight but I want Rigondeaux to fight big names, so he can make a name for himself. He deserves more props.
Fighting Russell at this time won't help him at all but if the fight happens, i'll be sure to tune in.
Because Haymon only works with GBP, right? No, he doesn't. Like I said, Russell's under no contractual obligation to GBP, nor is Haymon. If he wants to fight Rigondeaux, he can; it won't happen because it's a bad career move for Russell, plain and simple.
I didn't mean that, I just assumed that because GBP has Russell's name on their roster, that he was a GBP exclusive. Thanks for clearing up the misconception.
Oh! So he only has an agreement with Haymon? pretty cool situation for Russell during this "cold war" in boxing.

He's not signed to GBP. They've collaborated before but he's under no contractual obligation with GBP; meaning he can sign to fight whomever under whichever banner.

It's unfortunate that one guy is TR and the other is GBP.
Gary Russell Jr haven't been tested yet, but he has the Tools to give Rigo some problems absolutely but he moved up to 130 and he is with GBP so that fight won't be happening anytime soon
