I was watching the fight and was thinking it was a lot closer than what ledderman, jones, lampley and kellerman were saying. These guys were saying it was a shutout and I was yelling at the tv that these guys were f'n stupid. Then all of a sudden lampley said their producers/crew in the truck contacted them and said they don't know which fight they're watching but the producers/truck crew have it as a close fight! Thought it was hilarious because only then did the commentators quit riding rigos nuts!
Rigo did an excellent job last night, don't get me wrong but it was definitely not a shut out! I scored it 115/113 for Rigo
I thought the HBO team did a good job of calling the fight. I had Rigo winning 10 rounds to 2.
I enjoyed the fight also, especially the first half... i didn't find it boring.
$h!t, I thin k it's the exact opposite. I think hbo commentators actually got this one right.
LMAO, it's like the rare time they call a fight to the tee, and the producers are down their throats. No wonder why they nut ride the money fighter most of the time.
For once (Perhaphs because Rigo made it so clear it didnt allow them too) they didnt have their head up their ass usually when it's any of their man crush fighting they give em every round and make a big deal every time they throw ANYTHING Last night they where more less on point.... for once.
Was I listening to the same commentators?.
At a certain point I hoped Bradley would say something, the other guy kept on scoring rounds for Donaire. Some rounds were close enough, but the man was ranting about ring generalshp winning rounds for Donaire, while in fact Rigo was obviously fighting when and if he wanted.
Ihad Rigo easily winning 10 ---2 and Donaire brought nothing to fight!! No conditioning at all he was smooth had no defination and was unwilling to engage and that was before the fight!!!! Not to take anything away from Rigo who controled fight , boring as it was!!! It looked like the first 4 rounds were leading into a fight but Rigo started running and Donaire never engaged him. It was definetely a conventional stance fighter being stumped by a southpaw who sat back on his rear foot and was NEVER pressed!!!!!!
Donaire brought nothing and then couldn't handle Rigo anyways!!! The fight was NOT a great fight and I'd hoped it could be. Both are talented but against one another no one takes the fight to higher ground! Neither are headliners after that performance. Rigo is talented but that was already known his problem is promotion, he's a boring fighter and to use the excuse thats its "scientific boxing" is just BS!!! Theres plenty of scientific men who engaged their opponents alot more than he does!! I see his skills but his methods don't sell tickets. He was booed along with Donaires lack of effort all night!! Real headliners don't get booed throughout their bouts!!! Boring!!
Ray.
FYI I usually respect your posts but Rigo threw and landed more than Donaire. When you have someone like Rigo doing that then you (the opponent) have some issues.

Why is anyone listening to those commentators, they know absolutely NOTHING about BOXING!!! They stink at what they do!! Turn off the sound and put some Coltraine on and watch and learn something. Lampshadhead is a total jerkoff and the Lettermanboy is "hugger" poor Roy is there holding his pecker in his hand, wishing he was home! Those people are ridiculous! Ray.

And what 1 million other people were saying as well.
Rigondeaux lost 2 rounds at worst.

Sounds like enjoys watching exciting fights. No crime in that. Let's be honest, that's what most of us are here for.
None at all. We all love exciting fights, but he goes over board with fights he thinks are "boring". Case and point last night's fight. He didn't like it, and that's fine, but he personally attacks both the fighters who don't fight in the style he likes and the fans that enjoy those fights.
If a fight wasn't your cup of tea fine, but there is no need to go on a giant rant about it.
I totally agree, it's "hit and not get hit", that is what the nature of boxing is. The preference of the majority is "get hit but hit more and score a KO"
It's the whole mentality of scoring a round "for who you would rather be at the end of it" that has screwed everything up. People think punching is all that matters and that is dumb, because it's just not true. I imagine some people were thinking last night, oh neither guy really landed much that round so I will call it even. It just doesn't work that way. Very rarely are all 4 scoring criteria even, thus very rarely is there a 10-10 round.
Dan Rafael is a moron. How can he call himself an expert if he didin't enjoy that fight? I loved every god damn second, it was more entertaining to me than Rios - Alvarado. Watching two top guys in their division with one of them being a pure genius, for me, huge boxing fan, was like watching Mona Lisa for art collectors. Rigo totally humilited ans schooled him. But I have to admit that after I've heard 114-113 my heart stopped for a second..
Me too. It was a technical matchup of 2 highly skilled technicians. I always liked watching it when guys like Pernell Whitaker showcased their skills. I don't care what Dan Rafael says, the dude can say whatever he wants, I don't hang on his twitter to hear his stuff.
I had it 8 rounds to 2 for Rigo with 2 rounds even. But quite a few rounds were close, so I overall the fight was somehow close even though the main story of the fight is that Rigo was beating him to the punch almost the whole time.

I agree, that was an absolute masterpiece.

Sitting here thinking about what a terrible fight that was tonight. So disappointing. #DonaireRigondeaux #boxing

If @trboxing & @GoldenBoyBoxing would work together we would have had Donaire-Mares instead of tonight's stinkbomb. #DonaireRigondeaux

I dont need toe-to-toe war to be satisfied but I despise watching guys who run, back up & dont engage.Rigo huge ability but not entertaining

If you're not going to even try to entertain, people wont watch, wont buy tickets and TV nets wont put you on.
Yeah, I saw that this morning. I usually like Dan, but his comments on the fight were absolute garbage. The ignorance and audacity to shit on "El Chacal's" masterful performance... SMH If I didn't know better, I'd say Rafael doesn't actually like boxing.
I gave Nonito the 5th and 10th rounds. He might've won another round, but Rigo utterly outclassed him. No doubt about that. There was never any question as to who the better fighter/winner of the fight was.
