With Brandon Rios and now donaire being defeated how much of this is the reason of Garcia?
He seems to me to give the wrong advice at times and is unable to have a plan b in case things go wrong.
What do you guys think?

exposed . i've been looking forward to the chaos in the advent of a rigo victory for some time now. here's a good start.
he didn't even train nonito for that fight.
it wasn't a good look, but that's not even a robert garcia trained fighter. you can't train somebody over the phone. i don't even know the name of the guy who was training with him in the gym.
i wouldnt be surprised to see donaire jump ship, though. a world class fighter needs a trainer for at least 6 weeks. the rest is basically conditioning, which you don't need a "boxing" coach for at this stage. they'll do it for nonito's psyche more than anything else. it's also an excuse to rebuild.
Donaire fans had their fun talking sh1t leading up to the fight so now its my turn. Let me have my fun, shoo!
What was the excuse for the one dimensional Rios then? And what will be the excuse for Mikey?
:lol1:
2012 was a rough year watching all these bum ass dudes win but 2013 is here baby!

That's a fair criticism. Neither Rios nor Donaire were able to adjust.
it was obvious donaire adjusted plenty of times, he went from counter-puncher, tried to get the crazy hopper style goin a couple of times, in one or two rounds even despensed with loading up and just touching rigondeaux, to bullrushing rigo, he tried everything he could but rigondeau'x has a tough set of natural attributes combined with a cautious, defensive first style
donaire won his clearest round(s)(besides kd rd) with the circling jab and right upperhook to catch rigo's head as rigo ducked, caught rigo about 5 times in a row in one rd before rigo adjusted
but as soon as rigo did adjust and started throwing uppercuts instead of ducking, it only actually took about 2 before donaire again adjusted to another approach and never went back to that, instead decided on that right to the body left to the head hop technique, which is what walked him into the eye poker punch
the last round i think donaire mentally folded abit and made an excuse for himself like "my eye is too hurt guys, i can't fight properly now", he should have went balls to the wall on the last round
Yes, exposed. Deal with it. Mikey Garcia is next.

last night wasn't a good look for garcia.
donaire can't be entering a fight with the best boxer he's ever faced while being "trained" over the telephone.
they never once looked like they were on the page. garcia wasn't even the one talking in the corner at times.
i wouldn;t be surprised if donaire hops trainers and takes a tune up to learn something new and make a statement (for himself, mostly, a trainer and six months to a year isn't going to help him beat rigo. if he can't land a huge punch he'll get outboxed again,)

You sound just as stupid as the guys who said Roach got exposed, fighters lose and fighters win, when you realize that, you'll stop saying stupid shyt like trainers getting exposed.
I guess if I use your logic, Diaz was bum trainer after Cotto got beat twice in a row, stop saying dumb stuff.

rigos counter shots and crazy footwork didnt allow him to continuely load up on the left hook. That left hook was landed during an exchange and exchanges were few and far between
i saw many, many occasions where he swung hard with the left and hit air.

Its only a matter of time before Garcia gets exposed as well as his fighters. Well, its already starting.

Two of his fighters became world champions this year and 2 of his other world champs lost, that's getting exposed??

i'm no expert and a bum when i get in the ring, but it was criminal donaire didn't stop winding up with that left hook. not only did rigo have it sussed, it allowed him to continuously step away and donaire had to reset over and over and over (yeah he got the KD but when he did land it the time was right and he didn't have to throw with intent).
maybe garcia told him to stop it but i didn't catch it. they were both bamboozled.

I meant that they were 50/50 fights on paper before the fights actually took place, but obviously when it happend it didnt turn out to be a 50/50 fight because alvarado clearly won the rematch.
when you fight the best you lose. Donaire thought a guy who is the best, has flawess technique in Rigod. He was bound to lose.
Robert Garcia isn't his main trainer though but it'll be interesting to see how the fights with the rest of his fighters unfold this year.
Ehhh, I dont think its a cause for concern. Rios/Alvarado and Nonito/Rigo were both even match ups and 50/50 fights.

Didn't see Nonito listening too much to be honest, one of the rounds Nonito came charging out at the bell and got suckered straight into a hook... Commentators were too busy talking **** so 90% of NSB missed it for sure ;)
This.
He seemed to be imploring Donaire to do more, especially to throw combinations. Donaire either wasn't listening or was unable to implement it.
You could hear them shouting to up the pressure all the time during the rounds, and were saying the same in between when we got to hear it.
Lo and behold, when Donaire did really go after Rigo, he roughed him up and scored a knockdown. Then he went home run hunting again, gave Rigo plenty of time to recover, and gave the next away as well. Given Garcia had told him he needed all 3 of the last rounds (winning 11 and 12 would have won him the fight, btw) I don't see how you can blame Garcia.
A trainer can only advise a fighter, work on their game plan and technique. He can't fight for them. I think Donaire has the tools to beat Rigondeaux, he just didn't put them together at all. He's blaming the weight, the shoulder, but that wasn't it. It was that he fell in love with his power. Against a brilliant technician like Rigo, you can't load up. He's not going to present you the opportunities for those shots to land unless you really set them up. Donaire needed to be jabbing, using combinations, putting Rigo under pressure by making him come from behind during rounds instead of letting him steal rounds with a 1 or 2 accurate shots and a ton of movement.
I think Robert had a plan B in place for both guys, But when you rely mostly on KO's, you tend to think that plan A will come sooner or later.
You can clearly see that Nonito and Brandon were only looking for one thing, whatever Robert said was disregarded.
