He has the deadliest style you can possibly have. God like footwork and defense, with a bazooka counter punch.
I can't remember a single fighter off the top of my head with that type of skill set.
He feints his jab extremely well and uses his jab. Very fundamentally sound. **** the counter punching, that all comes AFTER the fundamentals.
One of the many reasons why Cubans are my favourite fighters.
They are a joy to watch. You can tell they have been doing this stuff since they were kids, it all looks so natural.
yeah , blamin communism , how original ..
It's the truth tho most of the Cuban boxing talent never has the chance so many thousands take for granted because they are prisoners, but at the same time i believe w.o that same communism that keeps them from ever having the chance Cuban boxing wouldnt be nearly as great it is, aint that some ironic sh*t.
That is what im saying and i think he is too speaking in terms of the Cuban olympic amateurs and their training methods i dont think no one seriously thinks a Cuban just gonna step into the ring and Be a ring general just for being cuban -__- same thing for any other country, it takes a lifetime to develop those skills and yes talent of course and To your ending comment you do get that Cubans cant get out of Cuba right santana had to get on a raft for 10 days to get here and Rigondeaux had to flee and both are forever branded a traitor so think about that before you talk crap. Any number of Cuban champions in pro boxing is a true miracle for there are hundreds of thousands of Boxers from other nationalities with the chance at the pro game for every 1 Cuban amateur that is by some miracle awarded the same chance.

Excellent point. People are acting like we get to see all the top Cuban fighters. There are guys out there that are probably almost as good as Rigo, MAYBE even better, and have no chance to come over, or are scared, or just don't want to leave.
His footwork was fvcking amazing, I wish I could learn those moves, I'm gonna watch his fights and start trying to emulate him lol. I love watching fighters with great footwork guys like Rigo and Ward, it helps them tremendously in the ring.
you could say the same thing with rigondeaux . it's not that cuba has the skills , it's becuase rigondeaux has that special skills .. generalizing that sh1t is just getting carried away with the rigo victory .. if cuba, was all that , they would've produced more than 14 champions...

Santana represents as much of the Cuban olympic boxing amateurs as much as Victor Ortiz represents Mexican boxing they both just ok not like every single boxer is going to be the best talent ever you just putting too much high expectations out there, that guy was a mediocre amateur by Cuban standards.
We need a Cublamexintine ! that dude be terminator :lol1:

The guy is UNREAL. P4P best skills in boxing, and I've honestly never seen anything like him.
I'm not even exaggerating, because the fight just happened. I mean it.
Eh, don't forget about guys like Floyd and Andre Ward. But Rigo put himself in the discussion for P4P tonight, no question.
Wanna know a fun fact Rigondeaux was Gamboa's daddy in amateur Cuban nationals XD precisely because of Gamboa's aggressiveness he would just turn it against him
dam! then rigo is going no where for a very long time
p4p anyone?
Honorable mention for Lara.
Rigo seriously has the best footwork in boxing today IMO, the dude's balance is nothing short of amazing. It's kind of hard to explain, but it's like he knows where he's at and where he needs to be at every moment. And his his poise and calmness reminds me of a boxing Samurai (lol he even bows to his opponents).
I've noticed a lot of Cuban boxers do the bowing thing. Is it a amateur ritual type thing?

Never knew that. After what I saw tonight, I wouldn't even doubt that.

I'm not even Cuban.
Cubans have the best footwork in the game.
Who has better footwork than Gamboa???
I'm not even going to bring up Rigo, because it wouldn't be fair.

bullsh1t .. i know you cubans are proud right now , but rigo is one man ...this is not a genreal thing gentleman or else santana would'nt have gotten owned last night ..lol
