The Klitschko brothers are two of the most dominant heavyweight champions across any era, you cannot take that away from them.
They are getting a lot of the same criticism Lennox Lewis received for having a systematic approach to Boxing.
Do you think the criticism is warranted? Do you think the breaking down method style is entertaining? Please explain and discuss your answers.
Vitali is the better bet....he used to properly go for guys and always loved the way he beat some manners into the repellant, gobby little Herbie Hide, made things personal against Sanders and had a right go at Lennox.
VK is the better fighter for the fan because he has the shorter fuse and is more willing to swap shots and have a war.
Vitali Klitschko by far is the more thrilling fighter... he comes to fight & throws punches in bunches from every angle in the book. He's the ONLY champion in history never to be outthrown.. outlanded.. outboxed or outslugged in any of his bouts.. never has even lost 3 rds on the scorecards in any of his 47 fights.. he is statistically the most dominant champion in boxing history taking into account every single aspect of boxing that contributes to victory.. even when he's lost he dominated the scorecards & all punching statistics.
There is NO blueprint for ANY man that has stepped in a boxing ring to beat him while he's actually fighting & physically fit to complete a bout & most know this to be factual but won't admit it.. focusing on lame competition as the reason for this unprecedented dominance.. every champion in history has had his fare share of fighting pretenders & journeyman.. fact remains why can't the haters explain why Vitali is the ONLY fighter to ever have literally & completely dominated his entire opposition without even giving a trace of evidence that he can be outboxed or put on the canvas.
To have every single aspect of winning a boxing match from your offensive fists all the way to your defensive jaw... this is why no one on here wants to give him his due credit because they can't legitimately explain away such utter boxing shutouts.... so therefor all the focus gets put onto how bad his opponents have been. when in reality he's the ONLY one to ever have done what he's done against his opposition.

Vitali can be entertaining but the level of opposition dampens that entertainment somewhat. Wlad is about as boring as it gets, i'd defend his competency but not the dullness of his approach.
Vitali wasn't that bad, now that he is older he isn't as fluid as he used to be and thus not as exciting but he was always pretty fun to watch and even with that criticism he is still more fun to watch at present.
Wlad used to be fun back in the day but he really plays to win now which I do have respect for but it certainly isn't the most enthralling stuff.
I dont consider vitali to be boring but wlad can be very painful to watch. at least vitali goes in for the kill when he senses his foe is wounded. wlad deserves the criticism tho for sure
Agree to some extent. Vitali, despite being a tat too robotic for my liking, fights like a man who's on a mission mostly. His last couple of performances haven't been good but pre-briggs he was good value in the entertainment department.

Contrary to what many people think, they are very different fighters. Personally, I find both of them entertaining. They always go for the KO.
Yeah that was clearly shown against Povetkin. lol
As far as for fast entertaining KOs I am not sure that would grant Wlad more popularity. I think, more likely, the opponent would be noted as a bum.
Lets say Wlad KOs Povetkin in 3-4 rounds. Would it earn Wlad more popularity or would Povetkin be noted as a bum...
It takes two to tango.
I remember that version of Wlad, and I watched him live as an amateur. He was always extremely talented, but as Stewart remarked - he's a lot less prone to showcase his huge talent than someone like Lennox. Stewart said Lennox was his beast heavy, but Wlad was more talented, he just don't show it in his fights do to his systematic approach and safety first attitude.
With regards to American heavyweights, I don't think that's true at all. Look at fighters like Jmm, pacquiao, Martinez, Canelo and lately 3G making their names in America without being American or fighting any top American names particularly. If they were entertaining, one of the channels would show them. But there's zero interest in their fights in the states.
I can agree with that too. Most of those fighters are fighting in states anyway.
Wlad did it a few times but it happened that those fights were very boring (Ibragimov is probably the most boring of Wlad's fights). I remember Mercer fight - it was very entertaining and HBO commentators were very amazed.
Now in Europe and especially Germany, Klitschkos are so big that they can fill out 100k stadium fighting anybody. It just makes more economical sense to stay in Europe for now. I know Wlad was hoping fight with Michell could be a big one - but his trainer ruined that.
I hope Tyson fight can be made in states - it would be awesome.
Young Lewis is not on pair with Sdunek Wlad - if you doubt please rewatch any of those Wlad's fight. He had many disadvantages to this present version but his speed (and I mean legs) was just superb.
Manny was commenting on Wlad's lateral movement and distance control (in-out) and said Wlad has a better footwork than Lennox.
I don't believe there is anything Wlad can do. He is very unfortunate that American's HWs are just not good enough to give him a challenge. He needs to continue to do what he's doing - face Povetkin, Tyson - beat them and seal his legacy. I remember people here being quite amazed watching the way Wlad outboxing Wach in round 7. It's just that reputation that follows Wlad for whatever reason and people don't watch many of his fights...

Young Lewis is faster than any version of Wlad. Lewis that fought Ruddock/Bruno etc. Wlad is heavier than that Lewis. Stewart I think was commenting on Wlads speed of hand. Lewis movement and reflexes were better IMO.
True. And that's not very entertaining to casual boxing fans. So I think he should do something else. Add something new to his game, otherwise he will be remembered as very un entertaining to anyone other than his fans.

No, Lewis was never as fast as Wlad is now - not to mention young Wlad. Not even close IMO. Manny used to say the same.. Don't get me wrong Lewis was fast - for the size (especially in early days) - but not as fast as Wlad.
it comes to Wlad's style. To throw the bombs you'll receive some. Wlad doesn't like to be hit - well nobody likes, but he knows he can KO guy without being hit but it will take a few more rounds.
His KO percentage is excellent but he rarely takes guys out in the first 4-5 rounds.
You saw in Wach fight how Wlad fired it up in the middle to late rounds. Only Wach's PED kept him standing.

Lewis would be one that's faster than Wlad at the same size.
But you're right they don't come often. I can appreciate a systematic breakdown once in a while, but not every fight. Other than hardcore fans, people aren't talking about the Klitschkos. I bet that most people don't even know who the HW champ is! They'd probably guess Tyson or Lewis still. For example, against Pianeta - what's wrong with Wlad going out there throwing bombs from the first bell? Everybody knows he'll win anyway.

I enjoy watching them, especially Wlad.
It comes to personal taste, but I like the way Wlad systematically breaks down the opponents. His skills and speed combined with the massive athletic frame is not seen often. I don't recall faster HW fighter above 6'5.
I never was a fan of brawling style - pure boxing is more aligned with my taste.
First/early round KOs are not something that I prefer over domination and late KO.
I also like how Wlad can adopt to different style during the fight - example first Thompson fight.
Vitali on the other hand is not as fluent, but he is incredible tough and his workrate is amazing for such a big guy.
Lewis would be one that's faster than Wlad at the same size.
