Alot of people seem to think it will be boring. I can see this fight going alot of different ways but in no way will it be boring and I dont even mean in the way people defend things by saying that a high speed chess match isnt boring.
I mean I actually think there will be action. I think at the very least its a high skilled chess match on the level of maybe Ward-Dawson or Zab-Floyd, Zab Spinks.
Thats what I think it will be at the least. Also, it sounds crazy but I wouldnt be shocked to see someone put on a dominant performance with an early to mid round KO.
Most of all, these guys dont like each other at all and you can tell that both of them want to bring it and make a statement. Just looking at Donaire himself, you can look at his face & demeanor and tell that he's bringing it.
This is one of those fights that will be explosive. Everything they do will be so lazer like. It wont be anything wild but all quick, explosive, pinpoint lazers from both sides. Like every punch in this fight would be there best punch in another fight.
High level, crazy skill stuff. I know for a fact atleast one of them will be like that and probably both which will in no way make it boring. You will be on the edge of your seal until its over
I saw a video of Rigondeux in training and he was pretty explosive. From what Ive seen of him in the ring he is a slick boxer with speed and power quite simillar to prime Casamayor but the training vids were impressive and she showed a real aggression.
Donaire on points is still my prediction but Ive seen a side to Rigo that you dont usually associate with sucessful amatuers so I can see this catching fire and being explosive if they choose to engage.
So you think Donaire is better than Rigo because he has to eat punches to land some?
Donaire took a lot of risks vs Vazquez Jr alright, he won a SD and went the distance while getting his face busted up.
Great risk.
LOL.
Vasquez also fought very conservative.Which is why, busted up face or not,Donaire won the decision..
Its going too be a very technical fight both guys will be wary off the other that one mistake could cost them.At the same time its two extremely talented guys, ive a feeling it will end by KO and add in the bad blood its something too look foward too
They won't throw a lot, but when they throw it will be hard.
The problem may arise if one of them gets hurt by a shot. Then it could turn really boring. I could see something like Pacquiao-Cotto, minus the action. 4 great rounds, and 8 boring ones.
It won't be boring that's for sure. I'll be waiting for that big shot to land on Rigo's chin.
So he can brush it off and obliterate Donaire with a straight left to the solar plexus?
Ramos was cautious early, got dropped, and was in survival mode for the rest of the fight. That's not Rigo's fault, and I happen to think he fought a beautiful fight. He fought his fight, made it completely one sided, and knocked out the champion in his ninth outing! The only boring fight I've personally seen from Rigo is the Cordoba fight, but it's cool if you think different.
In most of Rigo's fights, he lets his hands go and relies on his defense to avoid punches. In that fight, he relied on the idea of being safe, to stay away from punches. I remember both fighters spending the entire fight standing their staring at eachother. Rigo has never had a fight like that. At least not that I remember. The fight you say was boring, I didnt see that one. But his other fights, he dominates like a defensive boxer is supposed to.
don't trust Rigo to hold up his end of making it entertaining
hoping like hell Nonito finds his chin early and ends it
if it goes rds, Rigo will turn it into Bradley-Alexander
it's an important fight, it needs to deliver
Nonito will be up to that but don't think Rigo will
montiel was a 3 division champ , p4p # 8 fighter when nonito fought him ..something only possible in riog's dreams ...SD was BS , only ones taking that serously are the ones who did'nt watch it ...
and wv2>>>>>>marroquin .. plus, nonito was never wobbled in that fight , rigo was , TWICE....
no offense but youre too easy ...
stop saying p4p when comparing fighters, it means nothing.
fact remains nonito won a sd vs a 20 fight pro and his face was busted up in the process
the same wv2 just lost to a featherfisted bum LOL
too easy.
The knockout was aggressive, but that ENTIRE FIGHT, was anti-climactic. That fight was BEYOND horrible. And BOTH fighters werent throwing ANYTHING. Man stop lying to yaself. That fight was NOTICEABLY boring. Its not even an argument.

monitel is an overated fighter who has bad technique when he throws punches.
anyway, you say that Rigo got caught with two left hooks by a bum
Donaire won SD against a 20 fight pro with no amatuer experience, who just lost (and was dropped) by a featherfisted bum. I'm talking about Vazquez Jr.
If Vazquez can win in a judges eye, what will Rigo do.
I can throw that right back at you.

depends what you call slow coz montiel definitely was'nt slow , very good counter puncher also , and a huge puncher..
ofcourse he can , a bum in marroquin could land lefthooks twice in one fight, i dont see how a p4p fighter cant...
if rigo survives in his defensive mode , consider him outboxed....

big difference leading with power shots against slow fighters who aren't counter punchers vs a deadly counter puncher
do you really belive he can come at rigo with the stuff he's doing to these slow fighters like Arce?
nonito isn't outboxing anyone. Throw that out the window.

he leads with power shots and counters....not everyone relies on jabs to land power shots..
rigo himself does'nt have a good jab , reason why i dont see him even outboxing nonito....

The problem here is Nonito doesn't have much of a jab, so how will he land power punches? Rigo is faster and has a deadly left hand that is a LASER. Donaire will not outbox Rigo, I can promise you that.

I think Nonito will be the aggressor but even so he's very defense minded. i mean look at his beat downs of Montiel and Arce. Even though he went for the KO he still was really patient, sizing them up, and waiting to counter.
Rigo on the other hand only opens up if his opponent is open. They are both counter punchers but Rigo almost never goes first because he is way more comfortable countering than leading.
Even when Rigo beat Teon he pretty much just waited for Teon to throw a punch then he would floor him only after Teon threw first.
So if Nonito respects Rigo and plays it cautious then this fight could be a snoozer but if Nonito really goes for it it will leave him more vulnerable and Rigo will open to counter as well.
Nonito in the end may be just too strong, fast and tall for Rigo

Donaire takes risk(not recklessly)while Rigo takes none at all tbh.

You have a completely different memory of that fight than I do. I remember Rigondeaux throwing short, accurate punches all night. Ramos was scared no doubt, but he basically served as target practice for Rigo. And when he knocked Ramos out, it was the most aggressive I've ever seen him.
The knockout was aggressive, but that ENTIRE FIGHT, was anti-climactic. That fight was BEYOND horrible. And BOTH fighters werent throwing ANYTHING. Man stop lying to yaself. That fight was NOTICEABLY boring. Its not even an argument.
why are people saying they're worried about Rigo waiting too much when Donaire doesn't throw a lot of punches himself and ALWAYS waits.

Feints and waiting is what I expect. Two guys looking to counter who are afraid to lead. Boo birds come out. Then there is a ko out of nowhere. Everyone freaks. NSB explodes.
