Bro, I follow boxing and I did see that fight. Close fight, I thought Mosley won but they gave it to Cotto, but I don't quarrel with the decision.
Even on the night of this fight, and they both fought; Mosley fought Canelo and Cotto fought Mayweather, there wasn't that much separating the two.
The Cotto that Floyd fought was twice as good as the Mosley canelo fought.
Seriously bro, in case no one educated you, Miguel Cotto has a W over the best Mosley that he, Floyd, or Pacman fought. No need to mention canelo cause like I said originally Mosley wasn't supposed to see 12 with the guy.

He would have done just as well as against Trout, probably better. Mosley is pretty tough fighter to knock out. If he had fought Cotto that night instead of Canelo, he might have won, despite everything said about how Cotto is so vastly better than anyone Alvarez has fought.

I don't know, it's the same Shane who said Billy Dib was the future.
Thats the salesmen side because he signed Dib , this is the fighter side talking .
This is going to be a good fight. I gotta go with Canelo in this one. Two good fighters in the prime going at it at 154 next weekend. This weekend we got two fighters in their primes at 122.
Thats the question i have too Dan, Canelo definitely seems to need to be set to throw those shots but i think he cuts the ring off fairly well so that may save him against Trout's movement. I think Alvarez comes out with a win one way or another but wouldn't be unhappy if AT beats him, Trout seems a good guy
He seems to but that said, he hasn't fought anyone who brings to the table what Trout does in a combination of speed, movement, size, jab etc.
I was impressed when he fought Rhodes, Rhodes was passed his best and not on Trout's level but at the same time he's a good boxer and Canelo dealt with him perfectly. He showed good qualities there.
It's just so hard to gauge Canelo because his level of opposition has been so poor so far for the most part. This fight will answer a lot of questions.
If he cuts off the ring and get's Trout against the ropes he will definitely do some damage but I think Trout is definitely going to give him some problems.
I'm very intrigued to see how Canelo deals with Trout's movement.
From what I see, Canelo seems to need to be set to throw his combinations, he needs to plant his feet and sit down on them and Trout maye not let him down that.
We'll see how good Canelo is at cutting off the ring in this fight and how effective he can be against a boxer like Trout.

no. 1000x no.
Mosley did do good against canelo. No one said he won. But he remained competitive throughout. At this stage of his career and the way Floyd, then Pacman beat his a$$, he had no business lasting 12 with a 22 yo old receiving the type of accolades canelo gets, none.

Mosley did pretty well against canelo considering his last performances imo i think trout might get robbed or box the the socks off of no footwork canelo

The dude got sent home for being useless....there's literally no praise in that.
He might not say anything, but the action speaks louder than words.
Just like when Pac sent that African kid home for being useless.
I don't think you understand the scenario i'm describing.
I don't know what that has to do with what I said.
Wasn't there also a time when Cotto sent out Figueroa for being too tough or something?
When a fighter is asked about an upcoming fight, an he fought and sparred both of them but lost to the one he fought and is sparring with the other one, they never say anything bad about the opponent.

What about when Haye sent Wilder home for being useless?
I don't know what that has to do with what I said.

There's never been a time, that I know of, where some one's sparring partner does not praise them.

Shane is right. A moving target is not easy to hit. Cotto gassed and gave up chasing the running target. That's when things begin to shift. Except that Canelo doesn't lose gas and unleashes combinations in a split second.
