Martinez has a draw with cintron and a loss to paul willams at 154
Martínez actually knocked out Cintron (and even won the cards anyway, that decision was disgusting) and arguably won vs a prime Williams.
It's funny these guys keep bringing Barker and Macklin, two guys Martinez KO'd at 160 and who won 2-3 rounds tops. Meanwhile, when De La Hoya tried to move up to 160, he technically 'loses' a 116-112/117-111 type decision to a young Felix Sturm and a KO9 against a 40 year old Hopkins who hadn't stopped anyone in two years and who would not stop anyone in his next 14 fights.
Right. People keep bringing up the Macklin/Barker fights up, like that's supposed to mean ****, when he KO'd them.
And I thought we were discussing them fighting at 154. What does Barker/Macklin have to do with anything?
Yeah, that's why he KO'd Barker and Macklin (2 BIG MW's). Sergio beats Oscar in the beginning, and ending rounds. Oscar fades, and Martinez only gets stronger. Martinez would whoop dat ass at 154.
I don't care which Oscar it is. Martinez baptizes the boy.

are you trying to say the roman, cintron, bunema where better competion than still prime mosley, castillejo and vargas:spank:
even older oscar fought better opposition than martinez at his natural weight
No, I'm showing footage of both fighters at 154 so people can use the footage as reference and compare they're styles. I'm trying to help advance the argument, not trick people into agreeing with me. Do you have a problem with that?
yeah right like he did to cintron and william first fight
we are talking about a guy who lost to margarito
I think the mosley who fought oscar will win over maravilla too
Anyone that brings up the Margarito fight is a Boxrec warrior. Do you know how long ago that fight was?
Sergio would perform surgery on 154 Shane, 154 Vargas, and Castillejo.

Lmao. Sergio. Is an athlete who can fight ,oscar is a experienced skillful top of the food chain inner ingredient fighter, when fighting full time oscar was dangerous. He has seen 175 black sergios in the amatures ,nothing new there
If there was a 175 black Sergio, he'd be headlining PPV's.

Alrighty then.........

You need get a clue on boxing
Martinez does one thing rely on speed and power ,barker and macklin style wise had sergio thinking too much ,oscar ar too experienced and faced a better sputh paw who is far superior to martinez.
Oscar beats him up in the middle rounds. Young oscar not the one who faught floyd. Read the op post. Oscar beats sergio up

Martinez v. Cintron should have ended in a KO7 and even then Kermit didn't win more than 2-3 rounds. That same Cintron would beat a prime Alfredo Angulo by UD in his next fight.
You bring up Sergio's fights at middleweight against mostly taller and heavier fighters, but you don't bring up De La Hoya's 'success' when he tried to move up from 154 to 160. He technically should have lost a 117-111/116-112 type decision to a young Felix Sturm and was KO'd by a 40 year old Hopkins (Bernard hadn't stopped anyone in two years and would not get a stoppage in his next 14 fights). Martinez, by contrast was much more successful in his transition because of his speed and athleticism; two characteristics that would give him the edge over Oscar.
Oscar v. Castillejo
Oscar v. Vargas
Oscar v. Mosely II
Martinez v. Roman
Martinez v. Bunema
Martinez v. Cintron

I still watch the Bunema fight every few months. Vintage Martinez.
Sorry, but did you slow mo the ODLH fights? I was watching the Martinez fights first, then I watched the ODLH fights. Is there a glitch in those vids?
Even though Oscar was at his best at 147 in the 90s-early 2000s, Martinez did have trouble in spots with Cintron . And although this was a 160, Pavlik, Williams, Macklin, and Barker all gave Martinez a hard time. Chavez Jr nearly knocked him out as well.
An early 154 Oscar DLH was a far better fighter than Cintron, Pavlik, Williams, Macklin and Barker, far better. He beat Vargas, arguably Mosley, and had a 7-5, 8-4 type of fight with a prime Floyd Mayweather, though Oscar himself was also on the decline.

A lot of people forget that at one point Oscar was a beast. I'm going with the golden boy.
No one forgot that Oscar was a beast. It's just that, 154 wasn't his best weight class. 154 was Martinez's natural weight class, so you'd think that the guy with more speed, power, and reflexes would be able to beat a guy that's fighting at his unnatural weight class, that's also slower, weaker, and not as agile as per his previous weight classes.
Oscar
He has too much experience, skills, and chin and heart for sergio
Oscar ud. Martinez will not be able to adjust. South paw winky would be a tougher out for oscar,a fight i wanted to see
